I think family story's around the fire sounds like a great episode, as much as I love seeing farming and project vehicles you do have some funny story's and it almost feels like meeting up with old friends.
I can relate my skiing experience. Second run I was doing OK until I wasn’t. My brother said it looked like I exploded. Stocking cap, gloves, poles, skis and just about everything went flying. Collected my gear, made it to the bar in the lodge and that was the end of my ski trip.
Man the smile on my face got me thinking about the years gone by me and family sitting in the shop and talking stupid things we had done and lived though it all .
Your dad has some great ideas and made some great things. I think a lot like your dad does seeing something and what I could make out of it. Great times with family building stuff.
It's been years since I dealt with it, but I believe that you need to change the output shaft on the nv4500 and use a lock ring on the 5th gear because of the numerous 5th gear failures. Some people weld the 5th gear lock on, but it makes it harder to service later. Some people have also tried to cut the original 2wd output shaft, but I don't think that is wise considering the 4wd output shaft is fairly easy to come by and relatively cheap. If you are switching out the clutch, you can also switch out the input shaft for an 1.375 input shaft and retainer (and clutch disk), this is helpful if you are turning up the power on the 12 valve because it has a tendency to twist the stock input shaft right off at higher power levels. Some HD NV4500s came with larger input shafts stock. But if you are only going to run the truck without a fuel plate and plan no other mods, the stock input shaft should be fine.
That’s some solid advice. Thank you for taking the time to write it out. I’m thinking we need to just change the entire shaft just to make life easier. Plus being able to do those other upgrades while inside the trans would help in the long run.
Don't feel bad I accidentally discharged my 2.5 ton central house system one time. Crimanetly I thought the world was coming to an end😅😊. It was loud and it went on forever. I agree with other folks here Best not show that on TH-cam could get ugly too many Karen's in this world. Loved watching you and your brother work together Great video keep em coming!
Man...my brother and I loved hanging out working on things.....but his wife came between us.. Lost my dad a few weeks back. I'm hoping things will change between us. Brothers are the best!!
Sorry to hear you lost your Father. Hope you and your Brother get back together. His woman is wrong from keeping your apart. Never let a woman come between family
Hey Sean, you’re really lucky I lost my brother who is one year older than me about three years ago to ALS and my other two brothers passed away a few years earlier so I have four brothers. I’m the only one left I’m 62 and love in life have great memories of them. Take my suggestion hug your brother today and tell me you love him cause it only takes one phone call and the only thing I have is the memories take care, brother.
i always got lucky back when i'd do the v8 and a 5spd swap on the '80's and early '90s chevy S10's, S15's & Mini Blazers back then i just had todo get the right tailshaft peice and never had any other issues xcept if i did the swap with an automatic thats when it got a lil tricky cuz the tailshafts had 2 different lengths so would have to get the right tailshaft AND make sure i got the stubby one or if i needed to get the longer one which was an issue on the mini blazers not really as much on the s10 trucks, but ya i guess cuz I'd swap out from a fullsize donor that had the 350 equipped with np205 transfer case from factory i never had issues with the actual shaft size in the tailend of tranny cuz i stuck to trying to use as much of the donors parts as i could but when i did the 5spd's swap it didn't matter the 4.3 v6 and the v8 from that era had the same size shaft if i remeber right the 4.3 v6 is basically a 350 with 2 cylinders cut off so most parts externally should line up and work fine even the same went when I'd add a gear vendor under/overdrive into the mix which if u did that with an auto u wanted the short tailend housing on turbo 400 because u loose some real estate under ther for the driveline so u want the shorter length housing so it has the room for transfer case and gear vendor and yes those S10's with the v8 swap are so fun lifted with 35"+ size tires with full size axle swap with solid axle fronts just fit together and drive any & everywhere just so nicely they were cheap and easy to build and they would piss people off on the streets light to light then again offroad so light but with v8 power they just did anything u wqnted them too
I actually had an ac like that blow up in my face I felt it ow my eyelids open it's a wonder i didn't go blind but it didn't hurt me burnt for awhile. Lol that was years ago I've since learned better
@ There are laws against doing that and it is now on TH-cam where it can be downloaded and used to prosecute and it’s kind of hard to deny a video that shows what happened. Plenty of people have been prosecuted from what they have posted online as if video isn’t evidence. I didn’t say don’t do it I said don’t show. Now go do something illegal while filming it and post it online everywhere you can.
HAHAHAHAHA! A feller oughta move stuff to someone else's yard every decade just to clean yer own yard! All REAL Dads love laughing at their kids make bad choices!
Was that a Klondike derby sled in your yard? I have no good memories of the derby, either as a kid or an adult; too cold and wet, and the whole "let's build a snow cave" thing is beyond stupid. My opinion, of course...

It wouldn’t make you the favorite son. Just the only son
Awesome Vidya love the channel
You need to show us thst 4 wheel drive car in the beginning
Wish I had the money I need a cab for my truck that would be perfect
Where are you located? I’m more than willing to work something out with you if you’re really needing this cab of mine.
I actually had an ac like that blow up in my face I felt it ow my eyelids open it's a wonder i didn't go blind but it didn't hurt me burnt for awhile. Lol that was years ago I've since learned better
Discharging the AC system to the atmosphere could lead to fines and a lot of hassles. Don’t show that on your videos.
Just imagine how much freon discharged during the fires in L A, all ng with all the other fumes from plastic and such ....just saying.
@@geraldluque9607along with everything else that they have released and they think a coal fired power plant is bad.

@ yes your right that there are laws about that. Good thing it never happens during a crash.
Good times
Keep the lower gears.
somebody may turn you in for letting freon into air... be careful buddy
👍🏻👊🏻
