- The Green Market was once the center of old Fürth. An important trade route passed through here. After Fürth was almost completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War in 1632, the historic buildings remaining around the Green Market, apart from St. Michael's Church, mostly date from the first half of the 17th and 18th centuries.
The market square is a widened street that, after a major redevelopment, has become the new, small and lively center of the city. A special attraction is the "Gauklerbrunnen", designed by Harro Frey in 2004. The two groups of figures represent acrobats and artists and are a reminder that many artists performed here in times past.
