Hi Nick! Congrats on having this video sponsored by rePotme! I'm so glad you used a fish bowl for your terrarium! I've seen quite a few videos for making terrariums, but none with fish bowls, which is what I have. Yours turned out really pretty! I need to do one now, but need to figure out where to put it first. LOL! You explain things so well, too. I really like the bark you used for a top dressing and the addition of the crystal and rocks. Thank you so much for sharing!
I gave up on terrariums years ago. But today I hear the advice to let the soil touch the bottom. Everything I've read separates the layers. This makes so much more sense! Thank you Nick. Time to get out those glass containers! Now, can someone recommend where I can get a mini syngonium?? That looks awesome!
Very pretty but I certainly would have made some different plant choices rather than those that were chosen here because these will outgrow this small container in a month or two. The trouble with shopping for terrarium plants at a garden center or big box store is that the choices offered are typically just very young versions of larger growing plants. For example the bird's nest fern grows into a giant plant that normally grows on trees in nature. By choosing truly diminutive growing plants, the terrarium would have a much longer lifespan and a more pleasing appearance when the plants are kept in scale with the size of the container. I think that the viewers will have greater satisfaction, success, and more pleasing results with a few of these plant recommendations: tiny African violets such as Sinningia musicola, oak leaf creeping fig, mini mondo grass, a tiny fern called Bolbitis heteroclita difformis, a tiny Aroid called Syngonium ' Teeny Tiny", perhaps smaller growing sundews and butterworts as well. (Just to name a few) Have fun! I planted my first terrarium about 50 years ago and still take great satisfaction watching my plants grow in miniature glass enclosed plantscapes with probably 100 or more terrariums in my home. 😁👍
I just love the variety of your content. Always thorough and you seem to answer my questions before I have to ask. Great plant choices… as always. Thanks
The one I made makes me happy. Recycled a 5 gallon glass aquarium, left the undergravel filters in place. Added the red aquarium gravel back in. Set my planted babies in. Have a cover & lights.Occupants? Manjula pothos, airplants, orchid. Everybody happy. Yes I do ventilate so nothing rots. The UG filters helps with moisture, got a real bio-system.
Hi Nick! Enjoyed the video and how you explained everything a lot. Would there be any plants that you don't recommend using for terrariums, as well as how you maintain the size of the plants inside? I'm super interested in the concept of terrariums but haven't been able to figure out much about what to avoid. Thank you :)
Such a fun demo video! I have a empty fishbowl I found at Salvation army for a quarter plus everything else minus the bark I dunno why I didn't think of trying to make one of these sooner. Weekend project here I come!~
Beautiful! I am making a terrarium today actually and I am glad I learned about the soil touching the bottom. I honestly never use charcoal though and haven’t had any problems.
Look at you getting those awesome sponsorships! We celebrate your success Nick! xoxo
Now that’s how you do a sponsored video. I love your channel. Cute terrarium.

Yay!! I’m literately making one at this exact moment.
I usually don't like sponsored videos - but love these!
I've always been curious how to create a terrarium. I have the perfect container for one..I think I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for the lesson 👍
How did I miss this video til now. Great fun to learn new things. This is so amazing the way you put it together.

I made two peperomia terrariums in large pickle jars and they have taken off and are busting out the top. 💚
What a good idea!! I have a couple of huge pickle jars!!!
What type of peperomias??
@@jeannemuller7625 the frost, pink lady, burgundy variety. I have a video going over what I put in them if you wanna check it out💚
@@KelliesHoya thanks! And I’ll check out the video 😉
That's really cute, I like that!
Anything plant. On the wall , on the floor in terrariums. It's addictive 😍
I'm slowly getting used to the idea of getting an aquarium and getting into aquatic plants... It is an addiction, you are absolutely right :)
This was a really fun video, Nick! I’m not going to make a terrarium myself but it was entertaining watching you make this one.
I just wanna say I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate your authenticity 🥰
This video was a lot of help because I’ve been wanting to make myself a terrarium
I love this video I feel like I need to make one of these now I've been wanting to for a while.

Yes , those leaves will rot when they touch the glass, not a well thought out planting at all
I was waiting for a top. No top? Won’t it evaporate too quickly? How often do you spray it? So many questions!!😁
I just recently put my 3 moth orchids into a bowl just like this. So super excited to see you do this video!
Do you think my little jewel orchid would do good in a terrarium?
ugh we loveeee the new kitchen! it's so modern and pretty!

Thanks
I love your content nick and the way you explain everything makes it a lot easier to understand 💚💚💚
This video inspired me to create my own terranium yesterday. And now I'm in love with it. Thank you for posting this and all of your great content 💕

Loving that kitchen! We need to do a Friday night cocktail video again!! Love you!
Great. I did like the minimal look of the one plant as well. That lighting is a menace though, it obscured the terrarium the entire video.
Very nice yet simple setup, not too big to find space for and maybe a nice little gift for someone!
Nice! I have a terrarium with bog moss that I took from the Lapland forrest a year ago - it miraculously is still alive.
Wow Thank You So Very Much!!! After watching tons of videos, this is The Best, as I will be creating my very first terrarium! New subbie here❣️🌱🥰

Hello!
You could take off a few leaves of the fern so as to reduce its volume cause I feel it looks a bit stuffed in the bowl😁
Very Nice Nick !!!
I have 3 terrariums to fill!! Perfect timing!! Thanks Nick, love all your you tubes!
You may have inspired me to give a terrarium a try again.
Such a fun demo video! I have a empty fishbowl I found at Salvation army for a quarter plus everything else minus the bark I dunno why I didn't think of trying to make one of these sooner. Weekend project here I come!~
Very cool! You give me courage to try doing something different.
omg love it... i want to try doing it XD
Beautiful job! What fun!!!!
Looks beautiful!!! Great job you did🌱❤🤗
Thanks Nick. AWESOME tube
Good for you, Nick.
Really nice!
In Az I think my PPP ...needs this lol ...its a dry heat lol
It looks so cute! Now I want to make one🥰
Thanks Nick
Looks great😀
I want to make my first terrarium and have a quick question: Can I use pumice instead of gravel?
Thank you Nick 🌱
looks to me like salad in a bowl :D
I've been holding on to a glass drink dispenser for this purpose 😅💚
The first plant alone reminded me of Bikini Bottom on Sponge Bob. It looked like Sandy's home.
Awesome 👏
Dear Nick, Nematanthus is very easy to root! Next time you can water your terrarium first and then just stick in Nematanthus cuttings here and there.
Beautiful.
Omg I did the same looking round terarrium today as well 🤣🙈
Beautiful! I am making a terrarium today actually and I am glad I learned about the soil touching the bottom. I honestly never use charcoal though and haven’t had any problems.
Or you can clean it with vinegar it doesn’t hurt plants if it’s used lightly on the inside
I made a terrarium a few days ago.
Now I was to make another terrarium
Still decorating my home with crystals lol
💚
I like this video but you really can’t see the plants very well because of the lights shining from the camera
🥰🙌💚🌱
It's clear you aren't a terrarium guy lol
