    This was very informative and succint! I'd love to watch some more videos on that style :) Especially gear reviews, as I'm just about to start my HEMA journey!

      Thanks, glad you found it useful. It's our goal to keep making more of these but they're a lot more complex due to the setup (or lack thereof), so it's something we're always chasing up.

    Your review is really enjoyable, I'd be interested in watching more

      Thank you Matt, I do have definitely a couple more down the pipeline. Just need to work out a few issues with the production value and not being as nervous in front of the camera. Made me lose a couple of points I had to make but very happy you managed to enjoy it nonetheless.

    Now I finally got in which direction I had to wap the straps! ;-) Thank you!

      Ahah glad it helped. I should've addressed it more on the video, massive oversight from my end. It can be super tricky to get it right the first time.

    I was actually looking at those a few months ago wondering if they would work better.

      It really depends on what your intent is. I haven't done many tournaments, but sparring wise they're incredible. I've received some hits and delivered some of my own to students and they have good things to say about them. - Rui

    I been looking to get SPES Light Forearm Protector and thanks a lot of the info and review!, but if I may ask could one use those if one would have an sweatshirt or an long armed shirt on ?. like could one see them if I would wear the SPES Light Forearm Protector under my clothes ?.

      Thank you, glad you found it useful. As far as wearing regular clothing, this would only work over the shirt. Under the shirt not only would it be very noticeable, but unless you wore a few sizes up, it wouldn't even fit through the sleeve. Definitely a no go on that account.

    They seem very short. I use sparring gloves with hourglass cuffs which are also not particularly long. Do you think i could have the wrist exposed wearing those forearms? (I'm 175 cm tall).

    • @EspadaNegra
      @EspadaNegra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Paolo. For reference I'm 188cm tall and I use these with red dragon gloves and my wrist is not exposed (and I modified mine to remove the middle petal). Most of the times I have to pull up the protector a little bit in order to be able to freely move my wrist. Of course your mileage may vary depending on the glove you have and also the jacket and how the three combine (glove, jacket and protector). I hope this answers your question but of course If you have any more queries feel free to let me know and I'll be more than happy to reply. - Rui

    hi,
    just got my light overlays. did your come with instructions on how they should be shaped (just bend, or maybe by heat?)?

    • @EspadaNegra
      @EspadaNegra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just bend they by hand, nothing else required.

    What type of material is that? It's like eva foam?

    • @EspadaNegra
      @EspadaNegra  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite Eva foam, i think it's called styrogum if i recall correctly.

      @@EspadaNegra how it compares to eva foam? I can't find anything about this material

      @@EspadaNegra how it compares to the Sparring Gloves cuffs' material?

    • @ruiferreira5682
      @ruiferreira5682 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@madkappa4428 it's the same material that's on the sparring gloves cuff, it was actually the one thing that i thought this material would mimic and it does a very good job at doing just that. As far as I know the sparring glove cuff is not eva foam but also styrogum. I think Eva foam is more easily damaged than this, but i might be wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.
