If I have more energy (even if it is the bit that is still somehow holding me upright!), I do something that will help me either later on in the day, or the next day etc. It could be anything small such as refilling the 'refill kettle stuff'. Think of it as being the stuff that if a friend or colleague does you a favor by doing it but doesn't tell you and it makes you kind of feel good and think 'oh that's really good, thanks [person]'. I've called it 'how much can I help myself for tomorrow etc' game and I've actually found myself thanking myself with some things I've done the day before, just like I am my own little team! (I have memory issues along with really bad dissociation and other stuff, so that could result in my forgetting or not knowing that I did something like that!). I also multitask at 'dead times', such as if the kettle is boiling and I've prepared the cup/pot already, can I clean a dirty counter? Or put away the clean dishes? Or sweep the floor? Or briefly wipe up the microwave? Or sort an area around the house? You end up using the kettle boiling as a timer, and it becomes a 'beat the timer' kind of game. Also, before going to bed I put all the trash in the bin, and I tidy up as if I hadn't moved anything or done anything (unless it is something specific like needing something to dry or soak etc), and to prepare myself for the next day. If nothing specific is happening the next day and I am fairly quick in clearing away the stuff of the day, then I try and prepare myself for something later in the week and/or do something like cleaning or sorting etc to either improve a situation that was 'fine' and 'enough', and/or to prepare for when I might be too tired/low on energy etc. I sometimes spend time separating the teabags! It sounds crazy, but it helps me get more fluids prepared, and I end up consuming more of them! So, it means my focus can be directed where it needs to be.
