    Here is somethig i always wondered:
    Many artas have this plow behind them. Why dont they have to get into a "siege mode" when shooting? This might meen some artas will be more focusing more on one spot, leaving other areas of the map free. Or in open maps, they are changing targets instantly..
    Also, does arty have to have full map range? Exposes arta to more light tanks counter if they are not on the red line all the time.
    Why cant you play Arta in TD mode, with normal aiming site? Some artas (if you know War Thunder) play nicely as TD. Good for city maps?
    Make flare projectile available for arta: Ex: shooting at a small area, negates bush cammo. No more "forrest" camping?

    What I do not agree with your logic:
    A bad heavy tank driver may drive through open field.
    A bad medium tank driver may fire behind light tanks, get spotted, and let light tanks get hit.
    A bad tank destroyer drive may drive a glass canon to heavy line or camp at base with a break through one.
    A light tank may snipe the whole battle, or rush and die in the first minute.
    A bad arty player may choose the easy target instead of the important one.
    Are new players having a good time finding weak spots, spotting mechanis, armor angling, where to go on different maps, KV85 and SU-100 have 122mm guns, not 85mm/100mm, shoot KV-1 hull, but shoot KV-22
    For all people think arty is easy to get good result, just go take the easy mode.
    I think arty needs some changes. Faster reload and more accurate guns, but reveals position in 2-3 shots within 15m or so of the previous shot. So arty has to move between shots or get countered in the first minute, and this ise a consistent counter measure for arty from enemy counter part.
    Move stun requirement as secondary or with honor for mission so they are not mandatory to get the reward tanks.
    Maps need to change. It's pretty much all bush camping and hull down cupola sniping on most maps now.
    The same projectile should have at least 2 trajectories to hit a target.
    Aiming system needs to change. Did you know if you sit on a slight backwards slop on red line, arty can't aim at you because the center of aiming circle needs to be beyond map border to aim at you?

    One of the things I noticed is damage ratio.
    Its considered very skillful for a player to have a 1.3-1.5 damage dealt to received ratio in a 'regular' tank, but its not uncommon for a arty to have 2.2-3.0 ratio, which strikes me as absurd. In 'modern' context, say WWII to present, using arty in a direct action mode against tanks is simply silly. The only time you'd do that is if literally your battery was under threat of an armored column, which if that is happening, someone in your chain of command is getting fired for not pulling you back.
    I think it will be a combination of factors, greatly reduced damage potential, reduced/layered stun effect, forced relocation to avoid counter battery fire (if you fire from the same 10m area more than twice, you appear on the minimap as spotted), more accurate/visible tracers, etc. that will make arty more tolerated and viable.

    I'd try adding more shell types, lots more. Make arty players choose which ones to bring depending on the map utilising the sedondary load out feature from field mods. Different artys or nations could even have ones unique to them. AP shells (high damage, but might not hit, so its kind of risk/reward with lots of damage or no damage. HE shells (as they are now but maybe they can be made better at breaking cover, blasting trees down or chunks out of rocks and flattening buildings. Smoke (same mechanics as bushes allowing for creating soft cover). Illumination shells (lower enemies camo values in a large area). Incendiary shells (burn away bushes/tree cover and a chance to set vehicles on fire). Cluster shells (wider area effect but less damage. Could be cluster versions of the other shell types too). Just a few ideas there to make arty more about player choice and skill, and being able to support instead of just low damage and annoy the enemy. As for stun, maybe remove it. But if it stays, I'd give tanks a stacking resistance to stun, that increases each time they are stunned, as the crew are expecting it/getting used to it. Perhaps with each stun tanks get they gain +10% resistance (both stun effects and duration) that continues to stack +10% each time they are hit by arty. Spall liner or crew skills could even increase this stun resistance further.

    My Solutions to fix Arty.... Armored Warfare almost had it perfect before they failed at making a better WOT. With only slight improvements needed. Anyway....
    1. Remove Stun, or AT LEAST give us "Low-Tier" Stun, it's tolerable. 2. 1 Arty Per side (unless all my changes to the game occur which includes an HP buff and so would allow for 2).
    3. Double or Triple HP of all tanks. 4. Arty made more accurate. 5. Max Arty damage is 300, does not do less than 100 for direct hits. 6. UnNerf HE. 7. Arty shot indicator activates sooner and more accurate. 8. TD Mode with 3 high damage Rounds, like 700 to both protect themselves better and effect the game by running around helping. when needing to.
    9. Arty made faster. I miss the old FV304 how FUN it was. I don't care about the DPM, nerf it if need b, but why do you nerf the FUN Wargaming, how it MOVEs etc.? But not only that, because you have to shoot so close, you can't safely "maneuver" anymore. BAD balancing Wargaming.
    Off the top of my head.... Anyway, with my solutions.... BOTH Arty Player and Tanker can ENJOY the game, the Arty player will enjoy playing arty more, and the Tank will at least "tolerate" Arty.
    BTW, any adjustments needing to be done to arty can be otherwise as needed.
    Now, as to what you state in the video....
    1. Ya, I'm okay with fixes that help create "counter-arty" play.... with my above solutions ALSO implemented. For example, I want my arty to be able to MOVE to try and "avoid" counter arty play also.
    2. Meh, I think my above solution is better for Stun. Remove, or have the low-tier be everyone's stun. Though, I'm always fine with "less" impact otherwise.
    3. Fine with brighter tracers and again, counter arty stuff.
    4. Ya, I think if they improved 'when" we were notified Arty was firing at us, and it being more accurate, that would be good enough likely. I don't think we need a "aiming at us indicator".
    Conclusion... We have some commonality I think, but I'm adding much more and better. Both Arty Player and Tanker can be happy with the above.

    WG is worried about the 25 percent of people playing arty, but they are not thinking about the players leaving the game because of it, I played it for a week, and as a new player it wasn't any funny, reading a lot of comments I see that arty players all have the same dialog
    "it makes it more realistic" then they should introduce nuclear bombs, Jets, and all of the stuff.
    "If arty is removed a lot of people will quit" no they won't, and the a few people that leaves is not compared to the people leaving because of it. I think you know eve online, I've been playing it for almost 4 years, 4 years of nerfs and game mechanics changes, but it's still fun because it's well balanced, and its player base has grown.
    "Many people just want to chill out with arty" then why are you playing a multi-player, pvp game?
    I played WOT Blitz and it is really funny, I've have spent moneyon it, even made my brother and cousins play whit me, but I would not do that with WOT. Just because arty.

      The list of people i brought into this game that left over arty in this game, is well over 2 dozen and counting.
      Leaving long before they ever got anywhere in the game.

    Another option is have a mode of standard battles where players can opt out of having arti in games that way those who like or dont mind having artis will have artis and those who dont like artis will just have tanks. Gives everyone the option and wargaming doesnt have to change the missions

    I think a simple solution to also reduce arty would be to completely remove the missions from the campaigns. I know you can do the lv15 missions with honors and therefor skip the arty ones, but let's be real, the average wot player won't complete all other 4 with honor to skip arty, it's much easier to just play arty and grab the rewards as well. But this also incentiveses people to play arty that otherwise would never do it. I find myself guilty of actually having a 261 in my garage specifically to do the arty missions, and I'd consider myself above average. Just hand people the rewards they would have gotten with arty when you unlock the tank of whatever campaign you're on, so noone that hasn't finished them will feel left out.

      True! That would be an effective way to reduce the amount of players who play arty. Ik I play mainly for missions… Although I am unsure that WG would want to make getting the 279 E or 260 any easier. The rewards is another issue like you said.

    late to comment but you used to be able to counter arty but they changed how tracers work so you can't easily tell where their location is

      I faintly remember seeing old arty replays where countering seemed easier. This is probably why - But it was also easier to counter since arty had SO much damage potential with their splash

    I have recently got a my Son and a few friends to play WOT and have all been put off by the constant arti spam, end of the day arti is killing the game especially at new lvl base

    there is no fix for arty its non direct gameplay was made just to annoy direct gameplay players ,, when they was doing high dmg before atleast they had horrible accuracy with hard to hit spot in maps but now 95% of map can get hit and stunned at the front lines where good players try to have a fair play.

    I came to this video after watching your LT video (that was very interesting, considering the LT issue, by a LT player view). As you've mentioned this video of artillery (and as you may have noticed by my nickname, I'm an arty player), so here I am.
    I've started playing WoT in 2015. The nowadays gameplay changed a lot from there.
    If the playerbase wants artillery to counter the "superheavies", they must understand that this will happen only if WG restores the arty ability of performing a huge HP damage. Because THIS is the major deterrance factor against superheavies.
    This will not happen. You know, I know, everybody knows.
    You know it because there were an HE nerf, that also affected the Tank Destroyer class.
    And that shows what's the direction that WG wants the game to go. Fast games and powercreep.
    Ok. Returning to talk about artillery.
    After 40 seconds of reload time, do you expect that an arty player will shoot a Heavy Tank and perform only 150HP damage (or less), or only stun it? Do you know how it will be rewarded at the post-game results in a matter of credits and/or XP?
    So... It will happen only if there's nothing else to shoot.
    Because as the game is presented, as an arty player, I'll focus on shoot softer targets, to lower as much as possible their HP pools, or even lower the enemy player numbers.
    The main two objectives of the game still the same: kill all the enemies or cap the enemy base (and as an arty, I've already capped some bases, normally when my team was loosing real badly - and yes, this means some Corsair medals).
    So, that's my feedback, from an 8003 WTR arty player, with 53 three marked vehicles.

    You are very quick to insult all arty plays intelligence and abilities to understand their rolls, yet fail to also insult the heavy tanks players that camp the red line in the rear all battle or the meds or lights that just yolo in to get spots (and die in the first 30 seconds) TD’s that camp in the back and do nothing even after the battle line has moved 500 meters away from the location. There are player in all classes that are clueless some just are there to screw up everyone else’s day (trolls).it is disingenuous to lump most players in any class in to “no skill simpleton’s” a title you’ve magnanimously bestowed on all arty players.

      Hey Andrew thanks for commenting. 1. The topic is about arty. So I’m not going to cover any other classes. If I did the video would be 50% longer.
      2. I am very aware that not all arty players are simpletons but let’s be honest, the better (50%+ WR) players do not (mainly) play arty. So I’m not wrong to broadly categorize arty players as worse than other class players. Tbh most arty player’s compression of game flow ends at click and shoot. Look at how many never touch their keyboards even when given the time to relocate from base to safety after a flank falls. Sure some know how to relocate, counter batter, or focus fire priority targets. But most do not. Hope that clears up something for you.

    okay, so i play artilary a lot because i am disabled and to be honest most arty players don't move because they are so slow, also, arty gets the least damage per minute, has the slowest reload time, has indicators where they are shooting from and on some maps there isn't many places to sit, lowest hit points and as i said before real slow for moving. the problem is that they cant platoon because that is considered a problem when you can have a 3 man toon in BZ's or batchats. so if arty is revealed for shooting even when behind a bush, why aren't tds or any tank because on a real tank they would have a flash and smoke and whilst i get it that this isn't based on real life, why is it that arty can be revealed. i think arty can be revamped to include smoke rounds to help the team move forward and actually get some decent rewards for doing so. increase the arty speed but get rid of stun damage altogether and properly reward them for what they do in the game, i know a lot of players bitch about them but they soon moan if you don't help them lol, you cant make it up. as for bringing players back, most of the people that are my list have stopped playing when they introduced the EBR's, i actually have no active players on my list and have done for several years and i have about 30 people, so it is not arty that is ruining the game, its a combination of op light tanks, gold ammo, better players getting the best rewards, clan player getting op reward vehicles and none of them are available in the store, wargaming would make money on reward tanks and clan players would get it for free, that way people that aren't good enough, like me to play in competitive clan wars can have the opportunity to own the same tank and wargaming makes more profit. war gaming are missing out on so many opportunities
