I live in the Colorado Rockies. I envy mild nights in the summer where you can comfortably sleep on the ground under a tarp and not be cold. In Colorado we throw sagebrush on our fires to keep bugs away

I now you got all the times Coffee with you, ok take 1 or 2 Spones out of your Coffeebag and put it on a peace of Wood or Bark , inflamed with your Lighter and if you got put a littel bit of Pineressin with in, it's get a nice flafoured of Smoke around your Area and the Fly's and Bugs stay away from you. A small old Can with Lid is helpfull for more than one time. Give it a Chance and try it !!!

Hi Tom! thank you for your videos, they are great. *I had an overnighter last weekend here in finland with my hammock, i woke up the next morning at 3 am because the sun rises very early here.. and the birds started singing SO LOUD! Have a great summer my friend .

Has anyone ever told you that you sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger? If I close my eyes that's who I hear. I am glad you said what you said about being in nature is good for your soul because I was just thinking the same thing about you and your videos. You have a good soul. I am not able yet to be in the woods but I do it in my backyard and hear the birds and wind in my hammock.
I find Danish and Austrian accents similar too. There's probably some interesting history in that.

That was nice Tom! I think we call those sausages in a coat, Pigs in a blanket but like your term better. I use to get an old tin can about the size of your coffee pot and put some hot coals from the fire in it and cover it with wet moss so it would smolder then hang it up wind so the smoke would blow over the camp. It was not thick but enough to keep the mosquitos and flys away from camp. Looking forward to part 2! your friend Paul. Ps I still like the first lantern you made better and that saw is great.

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag put a few holes North, south ,east and west about 1 quarter up to a third away from the bottom just about your coal base. then add the moss or wet wood even some green twigs and leaves will work. hang from a branch about 30 centameters low don't want to catchier to the tree. Or add coals to the top of the wet or green wood and moss. Let burn top to bottom. Due some test.
The sausages in jackets kind of reminded me of the great British delicacy of "toad in the hole" you may have to Google that if it's not familiar to you. 👍🏼 I look forward to the next video. 👏🏼👏🏼

By the way, I think that the wild boar can be much more dangerous than a wolf.
I already had the bad experience with an injoured big male (fortunately I had my rifle with me).
He attacket three times until a bullet felled him.

Hello Brother #Tom at #CimbrerBushcraft , Glad to see you are doing well my Brother . I never liked camping in the heat except when I was on the creek somewhere . I have always loved camping in the fall before it gets to cold . Anymore I can not get up or down on the grown so I have not camped in years . I still have all my camping gear , Canteens , And cooking rack , Just don't use them anymore . Who knows the way things are going we may all end up camping , LOL , Man never knows what we may have to go though in this ol' world . But I think we can take it , What ever comes are way . If not we will always thought we should have . LOL , Goodnight my Friend Tom , Try to not let the bugs keep you up to much . Until the next one Brother take care and stay safe .

Man I love your style. I know it takes away the authenticity of the experience, but I use the UCO lantern with the insect repellent candles. Works well. May be use can use the candles. Lovely to watch your video again. I wish you well.

Hi Tom, I read that a bar of Irish spring soap the original scent hanging around your tarp will keep flies away. Does it work. I don't know. If it doesn't you can always use it for your shower. Love your videos

a bit of an update from me since your last video, I started my wild mead made with wild juniper wild honey and wild mulberries. I'm also making two pack frames one for me and one for my son, and today I'm making my first wood hammer from a piece of red cedar that I found.

Tom👍👍 Wonderful to see you Viking camping again, taking in the nature and enjoying the beautiful Black Forest in simplicity. Yeah when the summer comes, the pesky flies and mosquitos come also. I use insect coils that burn for 6 to 8 hours, they really help when the bugs are about. We call those dough wrapped sausages "pigs in a blanket" where I live, very tasty. Part 1 is official of course with a signature Cimbrer wink😉 The weather is agreeable and the birds are talking, welcome to the forest. The ambiance of the lanterns and candle make the evening so cozy, hope you enjoyed it. See you for part 2, thanks for sharing my Viking brother.

I love your style of camping, Tom. After you set up your shelter and gather your firewood, you just sit there (like Bhudda) and do all your drinking, cooking and other activities without getting up to move - everything you need is within reach, which is sooooo cooool.

Not that I know of 🤔 but I know that travelling on water was used a lot because the roads were no good and you could “ carry” a lot more on a boat. But when travelling on land I imagine that they did it like I do. 😊👍🏻 Appreciate your feedback and question very much. Atb to you 🏕🔥🌲Tom

If you put a long steel tent spike through the center of the long sausage,it will heat up and cook the inside faster.works for large bake potatoes too

Nothing better to recharge your batteries. Peace, contentment, solitude, reflection. I wonder how many viewers, who cannot themselves find such solace, actually lose themselves in your wonderful sharing video, and therefore DO find some of their own calm, relaxing contentment by proxy.

I lived in Ranchos De Taos for a while , green isn’t the predominant color there. It is so peaceful in the evening and the sky’s are so clear at night tho.
I am back in Florida where I am from now and I really enjoy watching Tom’s videos in the forest , much different than here too !

Hi Tom, i spend a lot of time in a pine forrest here in Northumberland 🏴, they are beautiful places. There are plans to introduce wolves and lynx back to the wild in this area. It would be great to see. Love your videos 👍

Hey Tom, nice overnighter. I have a couple of acres in the Shenandoah mountains and when I camp I have to worry about Black Bear although they rarely attack humans. They just want your food. If you leave food in your car they might try to break in.

I am a little late with a response but i made a viking hike with German friends in the German Eifel. The Netherlands and Germany are open again for each other so we could actually make a viking hike again after 11 months In the Netherlands we have worsten broodjes (sausage rolls) that are also very tasty.It was a great video again 🔥🌲🤩🇩🇰🇳🇱🇩🇪⚔👍👌

Growing up we made those a lot. We called them ‘pigs in a blanket.’ We used hot dogs or sausage links to make them. Sometimes we also wrapped the hot dog with a slice of bacon, then the biscuits dough. Looks good, Tom! Hope you enjoyed it.

Another great video. I loved hearing the birds into the night. The warm glow of those lanterns was amazing. I have recently tried the bread. I put a bit more honey in it though. It is quite good and tasty and fills you up. "Pigs in a blanket". They are good. Well as part II has yet to be seen, I hope the wolves stayed at bay. Those flies and mosquitoes seemed unrelenting for sure. I hopefully will have something for you for that very thing very soon. Again, I look forward to every Saturday when you post your videos. Tea tree oil in a small spray bottle. Put on your face. No flies all day or mosquitoes to! It works all day... guarantee it... and no poison. Make things alot nice. Learned it from a very old trapper.. good video Mr. Tom 👌👍👍💥

In the US we call those "pigs in a blanket", or "wiener wraps", but usually you have to roast or bake them...hard to do on a griddle as the dough will cook first unless you Pre-cook the sausages for a few minutes first, then immediately roll them in the dough and then cook them as you just did.

You should look at earthen hearth's pipes on Etsy. They have medium and large churchwarden pipes with viking staves and runes. Only problem is you might eventually have to use wood glue for the bowl and stem

If you have trouble with the bugs again try the salve the sub from the USA sent you, most insects do not like Pine Resin. Also I enjoyed your Canoe Video, I am glad you are continuing to make them it sounded like you might stop at first.

Love your work. Am letting the yard go feral till I decide what I want growing here. Amazing how many of the weeds are edible and have medicinal properties.
Doubt there has been a wolf or group of them that would mess with you with a staff or your seax. The dogs in my life mass less than half of me and still act like they need to protect me. Ain't been bears in my part of Kansas since the extermination of the bison so I am reasonably certain that I am the most dangerous beast that we will encounter.
I have tinnitus to a bothersome degree and birdsong is my happy sound.
