Tbh, I did believe Manila would be a more Hispanic-like city but wow, Chinese are everywhere. Love the multicultural aspect of it.

That is due to the large chinese influence china has to the country even before the Spanish colonization. Today, roughly around 30-50% of the whole Philippine population has some sort of varying Chinese ancestry but very little of the population identity as Chinese. The offsprings of old Chinese immigrants have assimilated so much to the Filipino culture to the point of forgetting the culture and practices of their Chinese ancestors.

If ever you are going up the mountain in Baguio, try to visit Tam-Awan. The trek is touristy but it has the authentic mountain food (etag, pinikpikan and more) and also have the igorot war dances presentation

Indonesia has more islands (13k +) and has more local, exotic and endemic fruits to offer like several kinds of durians. The food is offered in several arrays of gastronomic uniqueness aside from the friendly people the hotels and motels and hostels w/c are very at par with that of Thailand. The Philippines can only offer hospitable people and stories of ethereal and spiritual experience one get to experience when it comes to Filipinos' daily lives of interactions with each other, with foreigners and with their environments coupled with their perspectives and understanding of what a guest really is - a family extension.

Chinatown one street? You've gotta be kidding. That place is vast. Established in 1594
