Baraka and Reptile finally being valued in this story, it's incredible how they managed to show a more human side of these characters, I really liked their interaction in relation to the family, the two gained each other's respect. Ashrah is perfect in this game, Johnny and Kenshi are one of the best friendships in this game.
I was always hoping we would be able to play these two characters. But we always went against them and they were always on the side of the “bad”. So seeing them from this perspective and having them tell their story really changed my perception of them to a more positive one!
I’m glad Netherrealm did that because I always loved these two characters but never liked their purpose in the story (having an insignificant role and always dying) until now which makes sense: They both want to protect their people and their families.
Baraka gained my sympathy when he teamed up with Kitana in 11 and for me it was THE squad moment. Knowing he’s Edenian gives him more human feelings and he definitely deserves it!
Baraka has always been my favorite MK character and it warms my heart to see him finally get the respect he deserves. ❤
I’m so happy they proceeded to give other characters a story especially since they’ve been there for like ever 😭 shoutout to Liu Kang for the new timeline cuz we get to see a different perspective

I like the theory that only people that were Tarkatan in the previous timelines get the disease in this one. That's why Baraka says "it's not easily gotten". And why Mileena's family doesn't get it from her.
In previous games Baraka and Reptile served Shao Khan because he conquered and absorbed their realms into Outworld. With Shao now a general in Sindel's army, they now have their own lives to live before the events of this game turned things around. It's also interesting to see that all of the realms and species Shao Khan conquered are now coexisting somewhat peacefully in the new timeline without any merging of realms.
Baraka and Reptile are good guys in this timeline so they’re technically not the same characters from the previous games
Good job Keep up the good work!! I can’t wait to see her main Smoke! I’m more of a Raiden main in this game but Love Mortal Kombat!
