A collection of clips showing the wisdom of Uncle Iroh from the show Avatar the Last Airbender. I hope you enjoy these clips as much as I do! They make me want to sit down and sip some tea at the Jasmine Dragon, discussing life with The Dragon of the West. Below are a few of the Iroh quotes from the video.
-Are you so busy fighting you can not see your own ship has set sail.
-A moment of quite is good for your mental well-being.
-Be careful what you wish for. History is not always kind to it's subjects.
    -A man needs his rest.
-There is nothing wrong with letting people who love you help you.
-Pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's source. True humility is the only antidote to shame.
-It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place it becomes rigid and stale.
-I believe people can change their lives if they want to. I believe in second chances.
-Life happens wherever you are, whether you make it or not.
-It is usually best to admit mistakes when they occur and to seek to restore honor.
-While it is always best to believe in oneself, a little help from others can be a great blessing.
-It's time for you to look inward and begin asking yourself the big questions. Who are you and what do you want?
-Protection and power are overrated. I think you are very wise to choose happiness and love.
-Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you you just keep moving you will come to a better place.
-I was never angry with you. I was sad because I was afraid you lost your way. But you found it again.
-Today destiny is our friend. I know it.
    Thanks for watching!

It’s always the ones that are in the most pain that try to help others heal.

@@kev3374I think it’s empathy related, they can see the pain of others and, with their own knowledge of pain, often go the furthest in trying to take others pain away

@@kev3374Uncle Iroh lost his son in the war which is a big reason why he quit.

@@swingmattukan extension to what you said, they see their own pain in others, taking away anothers pain or doing what they can to do so when they themselves have suffered. Its empathy but its also wishing their own pain would heal. Some pain never goes away, but we make room for it, and sometimes being able to prevent the pain of others gives us solace. Also wishing that we could mitigate it for ourself.
