I really like being able to save separate patches for different parts of a song making those transitions very easy for the keyboard player. Thanks for sharing that.
Very helpful to be able to control every little detail and customize this. I think it might be helpful to know (on the front end of this) that it is already mapped in Sunday Keys Concert. lol. I love the cloning of the patches to have the small vs bigger sound patches. Very cool.
Exactly the video I need! I was arranging my TouchOSC layout. Thank you again for these tuts and very cool patch of the week! Much love from the Philippines!
I’m midway through, David… Another VERY helpful tutorial!! Is it normal for it to take a looonnnnggggg time to assign knobs/buttons/sliders? I’m going to wear the buttons out just trying to assign h to assign them. Thanks!
Hi , can you assign , play and stop ,record ,iv been trying to find how. And I like my perform screen for play back and words of the song Is there away to do this without all the faders and buttons Thanks
What controller do you suggest to use to activate the keys on the Tonic section of Sunday Keys? I tried using M-Audio Oxygen Pro 25 and it doesn't recognize the pads to assigned the keys when in midi learn mode in SK. Help please 🙏
Hi! Thank You! My mainstage and nanokontrol, there is a issue. If I press drone button for example. It only lights up when I hold it down, but when I release, it also shuts off. How to change it, that it acts so that first press is ON and second press is OFF?
Hi! You need to set the button type in MainStage to "Absolute." This is covered about halfway though this video: th-cam.com/video/X8kcvdYMtdY/w-d-xo.html
I would like to know how to control Ableton live with korg nanokontrol 2, because i still have a problem what knobs to use to control piano sounds easier
Really liking your video tutorials. I am using nanoKontrol 2 with MainStage on a mac, mostly for faders for live use. Would you know how (or IF it's possible) to bump the nano from MainStage channels 1-8, then bump to 9-16? Many thanks!
I have a general question. How do you get the sound from your MacBook pro to your Scarlett Audio Interface and then to your sound board? Do you need a passive Direct Box from the Scarlett Audio to the Sound Board?
The Interface connects to the Mac via Usb, then you just set the audio output in MainStage to the interface. Focusrite interfaces do have balanced 1/4" outputs but if you need to make a long run to the board/snake you probably will need a di box - passive will work just fine.
I followed exactly up to 9 min. untl it was time to do the mapping. Entering the Edit mode I could not get the same screen had to quit after that. Also, my NanoKontrol did not respond as easily as it did for you setting it up. Very frustrating for me to get this working the way I hoped it would. That being said, I do appreciate your help setting this up and I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you!
Hi, you might try a different cable and doing a factory reset of the nanokontrol 2. Also, if you have installed the Korg driver before but are on Catalina or newer, Korg recommends uninstalling that driver as it can cause some issues: www.korg.com/us/news/2019/112902/
my church has a mixer and from the mixer we transfer the audio to the laptop and from there we do it from facebook. my question is, if i get a nanokontrol, do i need to plug my keyboard into my laptop too? and is that going to affect the audio that goes into facebook?
You will probably want to use a dedicated computer for your keys rig, and one for your livestream if possible. We use the nanoKontrol2 to interact with the on screen modifiers in real time for your keys sounds.
This is great. Very informative. I have one question. Say i have 5 different songs with a Hammond plugin. Does mainstage load 5 instances of the Hammond plugin? Is there a way to make Mainstage songs share one instance of the Hammond plugin?
Can i use this nanokontrol2 to control the volume of each patches in the combi mode on korg krome? And how? Coz im having a hard time using the touch screen to control the volume of each patch during live performance. Tia
When I push the buttons, it does not keep that effect on. It turns right back off as soon as the button is let go. How do I make it so pushing the button keeps it on?
Hi, it will work without a driver, if you already have the Korg USB driver installed, you can uninstall it to get things working again, Korg has an article on that here: www.korg.com/us/news/2019/112902/
Hey! Great video, just a question - so my midi keyboard doesn't have a mod wheel, and I'm thinking of getting the nano Kontrol, would it be possible to map the mod wheel to one of the faders on the controller? Thanks :))
I’ve never used MainStage, but for 30 bucks, what a deal…curious, are you able to use multiple controllers to have even more sliders/knobs/buttons? And is it possible to group things? In this demo you’re trying to change 4 faders at the same time it looked like (maybe it 7), but it seems if you could group them onto one fader, then you could easily do those moves, and still get the mix you wanted with individual faders
MainStage is an incredible value! You can use multiple controllers and keyboards - and yes its possible to group/map several parameters to a single on screen knob or fader.
that sunday keys template is BEAUTIFUL! definitely gives me Coldplay's X&Y era vibes lol

This is absolutely amazing, I’m not even the keys player at my church 😂

Thanks so much bro I'm new to the midi field so this video really helped me.
Thank you David, very helpfull.
This was so much help
Great Video but my nanokontrole is not responding to the buttons when I try to assign them. What should I do? Thanks!
I’m midway through, David… Another VERY helpful tutorial!! Is it normal for it to take a looonnnnggggg time to assign knobs/buttons/sliders? I’m going to wear the buttons out just trying to assign h to assign them. Thanks!
I had the same thing happen. Had to twist the knobs 20+ times and same with sliders up and down and buttons. But eventually it worked.
Same here, but I got the knobs and faders to work. I cant get the buttons to assign. Do you just have to keep pressing & just wait?
then how do you control the 5th section and tonic
Following that has always been my question
Great video lesson ….I’m new to MainStage and I was becoming a lil frustrated trying to figure out for live church service at times….thanks

Excellent, Thanks

Hi, Loved your nanoKontrol vid. Would you know how to now "shift bank" so i can switch from channels 1-8, to then 9-16? Thanks. Perry
I can't get the buttons to be assigned. Do you think macos sonoma is the problem? No matter what I do, I can't assign the buttons. Please help!

How do you set it up in the Sunday keys app on Mac?
Korg NanoKontrol 2 is not available in my country. What other controller like this is suitable for controlling MainStage, Ableton or Sunday Keys App?
I would like to know how to control Ableton live with korg nanokontrol 2, because i still have a problem what knobs to use to control piano sounds easier
the korg nanokontrol 2 these days are 80+ I recently had to buy couple and those where the prices I found
I love your videos superb ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Is there way to send back signal from Mainstage to nanokontrol 2 to highlight active button persistently, and not just when you push it ?
We have a tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/X8kcvdYMtdY/w-d-xo.html
can you do a video like this but for ableton?

For patch selection - Can I use foot switch, that same 2 footswitch used for page/sheet turner?

Why have the Korg Nano control if your midi keyboard can do the same thing?
Can i use this nanokontrol2 to control the volume of each patches in the combi mode on korg krome? And how? Coz im having a hard time using the touch screen to control the volume of each patch during live performance. Tia
I don’t use MainStage or ableton. Could I connect it JUST TO ONLY SUNDAYS KEYS??!! Pls help!
You'll want to use MIDI Learn. support.sundaysounds.com/hc/en-us/articles/5876663147287-MIDI-Learn
When I push the buttons, it does not keep that effect on. It turns right back off as soon as the button is let go. How do I make it so pushing the button keeps it on?
Set the button type to Press/Release in Layout mode, then save.
Hi David, is korg nanokontrol2 compatible with mac os monterey? Does korg already have a driver for it?
Hi, it will work without a driver, if you already have the Korg USB driver installed, you can uninstall it to get things working again, Korg has an article on that here: www.korg.com/us/news/2019/112902/

Good instructional video. MainStage works great outside of churches also. Just sayin
