Girl, you are thriving! I can promise you that any girl or boy at your school saying mean things about you is jealous. You’re out here living your best life at only 16, even I’m a little jealous (and I’m 29 😂) But I can already tell you have so much emotional maturity and you’re going to thrive in this world. 10 years from now, you’ll think about these moments and laugh and realize it pushed you closer to who and where you’re supposed to be.

That boy missed out on one of the best teenage girls around because other girls were too jealous of her to “allow” boys to take interest in her… how sad for them… and what a blessing for you to see the true colors of people before allowing them to hurt you deeper.
People are invited to proms at other schools all the time even if they don’t attend school there! There’s no problem with you going to prom even if you don’t “go to the school” - those girls sound immature and are just looking to be mean. You carry yourself with such grace and are so well spoken for someone your age. Love you and your channel! Keep being awesome!

The way youre so mature about this situation is amazing. And youre right. You were not supposed to be In Tennessee that night. You were meant to be in cali. Annica you handled this situation with so much maturity. I went to my highschool prom 2 years in a row. My jr and sr prom. Both times I went with a boyfriend. 2 different ones. In all honesty it wasn't that great and I only went because people said I would regret it if I didn't go. It would have maybe been better if I just went with just my friend's. Either way I am 33 years old now, looking back I dont think I would have regretted it. And would have much rather have done something similar to what you did. I'm glad you were able to still enjoy your dress. You looked gorgeous in that dress. I love watching yours and your moms vlogs. Let the haters hate. You are amazing! And never let a "boy" make you cry. Even though I am the same way as you; a cryer and would have cried too lol.

I’m so sorry Annica. When I was in my hs this guy made me get a prom dress in a color of his choosing and then dumped me a week before because I wouldn’t go to a hotel with him after the prom. Guys in hs suck!!
This is something hurtful to go through and I completely understand your feelings. I went through it in the same week of prom and ended up not going. if you ask me now, almost 4 years later I dont regret it. sad to think how mean people can be, but is also important to remind yourself who you are and how wonderful of a person you are, regardless of other peoples actions. People were giving me this advice when I was a teenager and I just was too stubborn to listen and my hormones were just so out of control and I was a boy crazy. You are one of the best role models for other young women your age because you’re not boy crazy and you just get it. I’m 33 now and figured it out thank God but I definitely wish I realized that my life is just better and more fulfilled when I choose myself and my girlfriends over a guy that doesn’t have me in their top five.

I never got asked to prom, I still went once as a junior with friends and had an alright time. But honestly, my prom was a mess too. My mom wouldn't let me pick a dress I liked or my hair, so I felt super self conscious and yucky. All you can do is make the best of it, move on, and learn. I just subscribed I think you handled yourself beautifully! 💕
