Maybe one more thing: proper warm-up before skating. If I skip the warm-up phase my back starts to hurt after 5-10 km :) btw very great and helpful video. Thank you :)

This video literally couldn't have come more timely.
Literally yeasterday i wen't for my first long skate of the season with my club on my brand new skates (Thanks Topskate, they're amazing).
After about 25% of the ride i could really feel the back pain, and i ended up going much slower and more upright for the rest of the ride to try and spare my back.
I'm sure its partly being the first long skate of the season, and first long skate in years (just re-started skating with a year long break due to feet pain from bad skates) but i'm also certain it was bad technique and stance. Time to get the proper stance burned into my brain and save my back from a lot of pain!
So all in all, thank you a thousand times for making this video! See you on the streets skating!

The one on the right makes me feel pain in my lower back even as I'm sitting in my armchair :). The bright sun and squinting helps conveying the pain the poor skater is experiencing. A very nice video, Viktor!

Hi Viktor. Thank you for all these great tips. Your idea of showing the goods and bads opposed was really effective.
I was surprised with your comment at 4:30 about using more wheels on a rough pavement. I've always chosen bigger (and as a side effect fewer) wheels against that, like 110 or 125, to make the roughness "smaller" respect to the wheels. Even though I found your advice counter-intuitive, you have a good point too. Would you add any other points to this to help make a choice?
    Thank you very much!

I find doing a “classical push” really strains my lower back and I can only skate for a short time.
However, if I maintain a good under push while double pushing, I can literally skate for hours without any back pain!

What should we do if we twist too suddently the back in order to evade falling on our back, but then fall in a twist and force the lower back to the point it inflamates at night? I also have back problems since before learning how to skate

Just few days ago ordered 83a 125mm wheels, yes especially softer cause of rougher roads overhere and own body relief..
