The first bank in Harar has been turned into a typical Adare home that had special places for women, men and even the Imam to sit. The Adare (Harari) women are known for their very traditional (and colorful) costumes and the markets were fascinating.
Watch your fingers around the Harar meat market. The Kites (birds of prey) flying all around seem to think that anything "pinkish" (like our hands) is MEAT and come swooping down.
One important sight left in Harar will take place tonight...feeding the Hyenas!!
@travelswithsheila Great to hear, Sheila. Glad to hear that you're back in action!
@sfflyer123 The food in Ethiopia, except for local Injera, was terrible! I'm going into a food frenzy as I right. Never get sick when camping anywhere in the world. If you have a great camp crew, they take cleanliness to a new height. Happy New Year!
We really enjoyed Ethiopia which is why we returned there for a second visit. Sometimes, what appears to be negative video is really just to show people what to expect. Just like I live in Chicago and when we travel, we still hear, "Chicago, Al Capone, gangsters."
Great video, Sheila. How as the food & Ethiopia? Were the sanitation conditions okay? did you get sick from the food or drink?
hahaah now i get it what did u mean earlier by "real tribal videos ". happy new year guys, the world is not enough.
