The hype surrounding this reminds me very much of Barbarian from two years ago. How it came almost completely out of nowhere and received a ton of "go into it blind" sort of buzz. I went into Barbarian knowing nothing and LOVED it, and it remains one of my favorite horror movies in recent years. I cannot wait for this!!
Barbarian is one of my favs too!
It reminds me of the hype surrounding When Evil Lurks and Talk to Me that were less known and then got lots of buzz from praise at film festivals as best films of the year.

Loved your review. I wanted to see what women felt about this film. You guys may really enjoy these thrillers too Alone (2020) and Watcher (2022) were excellent very unique suspense thrillers too. Love a great independent film with creative good story telling.
@@anitaknight3915 thank you so much! Loved The Watcher! I had to look up Alone bc I couldn’t remember it but when I saw what film it was, I remember liking it very much! Totally agree about independent films. What I love about a great independent suspense thrillers is their ability to push boundaries and take risks with unconventional narratives. There's an authenticity and grit to these films that makes them feel so much more personal and immersive.
@@blondetouragereviews yesss I agree that independent films have such a rich authenticity and grit often times better plot and character development too. I just watched the ritual killer which is another awesome little gem suspense gritty thriller. After seeing your review, I am definitely going to go see strange darling tonight. This hasn't been the best year for movies compared to last.
