I am native of North Africa- Berber of Morocco and I always always admire indigenous culture around the world. I got introduced to natives of North America when I was studying in Canada- during my internship (nutrition program) I went to Indian reserve and spent couple days in the community clinic set by the Canadian government-health department. I spent time with nurse taking care of diabetes service- she was native and she very humble - she briefly introduced me to their culture and spiritual habits- my lord, it was a very enriching experience. I wish I could have more interaction with Indians of Canada but I moved to USA.

I love Southern and Northern Native American music, it is so soothing~~ No race has been more discriminated against than the Native Americans, yet they persevere, they stand strong, and they are a very united people. I'm not Native American... I love the spirit they have, and they stand strong in their beliefs. I am ashamed when I hear of the peace treaties that were put in place hundreds of years ago, not being honored, this is their land and I am just a visitor ~~~ Thank you for sharing this beautiful music.

@Dixon Native only means people or person who comes out of or belongs to a certain place. Or as in the case of plants we might say such and such plant is native to a particular area of the world. It comes from there, that is it's home. If I remember correctly 20 years ago "Native American" was the what you guys (in the US at least) wanted to be called. I'm having trouble understanding why that would be wrong now somehow. It's no different than me saying my ancestors were natives of Europe. I understand how "Indian" is just plain inaccurate. I think the story goes that when the first Europeans came they thought they had run into the people of India, so they had it all wrong and didn't bother to change it for a long time. But Native? I ask this with no disrespect. I'm just confused.
