I swear to god most every other youtuber is always like screaming facts and talking so fast I can't think, she actually takes time to explain things and is calm, thanks!

This comment section is a disgrace. Every single one is appreciative, complimentary, and on-topic. THERE IS NOT ONE shallow criticism, NOT ONE uninformed pointless political rambling, AND NOT ONE long-winded argument so idiotic that it fills you with, not anger, but a deep sense of sadness. I thought this was youtube.

heheheeee!! Our viewers are the BEST!
...of course, we do throw out the troll comments - everyone gets them, but we don't give them a voice here at Socratica.
Thanks for watching and being part of our great audience! :)

And it didn't even end with a "please subscribe, like and comment"! Just a calm finale while the not-dubstep music ran its course. I subbed and liked to make up for that, and here's a comment: ↩

Your presentation is excellent. I'm a student of philosophy, so if you ever get the notion to do a series on some of the philosophers, I for one would be happy. Anyway I'm looking forward to learning more about the history of geometry.

We know little about this great man but what we do know is that he lived among many great ancient thinkers in an obscure area of Cuyahoga county. This friends is what we do know.

This was the Hellenistic period of Egypt. Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great (although there is known to have been people living in that area for along time before and cities older than the conquest by Alexander has been found during excavations of Alexandria) after the Greeks conquered Egypt. Euclid is believed to have arrived at Alexandria about 10 years after its foundation. He is believed to have studied in Athens before the arrival, but very little is known of him and place of birth is not known either. Ptolemy I Soter, who assumed the title of Pharaoh, founded the Ptolemaic Dynasty after Alexander's death, was also Greek Macedonian and is the Pharaoh that is referred to in the beginning.
