  • Halfway through the year. Curious if my top 5 razors of 2022 (so far) will hold true all the way through the end of the year. The good news...I realize I haven't bought nearly as many as I did last year (there is still time in 2022 to prove that wrong). Keep in mind, these are my favorite razors that I have acquired so far this year. There are a lot of other razors out there and am interested in what you think is the best.

    I also only use one soap and one aftershave both Proraso.

    If you can spare the cash, the Rex Konsul is phenomenally awesome and my favorite of all time. I got the Rhodium plated version which makes it even better. My number 2 is the Henson AL13 Aggressive…. If you can’t get that version the medium is pretty much just as great. My number 3 is the Rockwell 6S, and #4 favorite is the Parker Variant….

    Nice video bud! Always a pleasure seeing your videos. I just officially got into the glorious world of DE shaving this year, and so far I got a Rockwell 6C and Blue 6S, Bevel (which I gave to a friend), and I just got (yesterday) a Razorock Game Changer .68 Open Comb and I just shaved with that one yesterday. Overall, so far, I have to give it up to the 6S as it has been extremely efficient and I love the easy changing of plates to change the blade gap. BUT if the 6S had a smooth coating like the 6C (like a mirror polish or rhodium finish) it would be the total king of razors almost! 😁

I like being used to my razor so I always stick to the last one purchased, I don't like rotating and all my previous razors are retired and should actually be sold.
    I've been shaving with my "last and definitive razor" for more than 4 years now and I really don’t see what could lead me to buy a new one.

    Hi Greg interesting selection I bought the alpha but it always had blade alignment issues which was disappointing as I really wanted to like the razor and was very happy when it arrived but unfortunately due to the alignment problem I would have to spend to much time putting a blade in you couldn’t just drop in the blade and go it would scratch your face to pieces.
    Thankfully the supplier allowed me to exchange it and I had a Rex Envoy which I love.
    Keep well and keep safe.

      I guess mine do too haha. I have a few razors where the posts are hot dog shaped. I feel like those are more consistent with alignment

    That Outlaw looks awesome. For me, I'd go for Blackland's Blackbird, aesthetically stunning, well engineered, always gets a BBS with it.

    I’m telling you, you definitely need to pick up the Razo Rock Gamechanger .84. You may just have to revise your top 5 it’s that good. I did take an opportunity to check out the Alpha Outlaw and everything is sold out on their website. Are they still
    In business? Looks
    Like a really nice razor

    New razors I've gotten so far this year would be the Karve Brass Overlander and Karve Christopher Bradley Aluminum Widebody, and also the PAA Copper Ascension Twist DOC. I don't see myself buying any more razors, but never say never.

    I not 10 min ago just had one of the best shaves. I got the icon tech about a month ago and frankly have been kinda terrified of its meat grinderish rep. I've been using mild blades like rockwell and dollar general branded dorcos. Tonight I dropped in an Astra and Holy cow what a shave. BBS 1 pass no nicks no weepers just an awesome shave nothing more nothing less.
    Gotta go got some grilled snausages calling to me.

    I only got two this year, the Weishi adjustable one (which I like at around à 2 or 3 out of 7), and a cheap fendrihan one which is so mild the closest I get get is like a 48 hour stubble (and I like my face smooth as glass).
    My only complaint against the Weishi is that the enamel is going grey from the shaving cream, and is impossible to get completely clean (even in an ultrasonic cleaner it doesn't get the stain off, but did start to eat away at the finish)

    • @GregTardif
      @GregTardif  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oof that’s tough. I haven’t tried a Weishi. Have you reached out to the company to see if they’ll send a replacement?

    • @Hotrob_J
      @Hotrob_J 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GregTardif It's also the white label behind the GBS adjustable if you've tried that. And I don't think it's defective, it's just got a matte black coating (which I like because it looks cool, but as a beginner it made me a bit more confidence that it wouldn't be slippery) and the coating just soaks up the shaving cream.
      I'd still recommend it, but I'd recommend their chrome coating instead of the (cheaper) matte black
