I advise you all to watch the entire video because these timestamps are just a general idea of where what is being talked about, but through the entire video there are a lot of other things worth noting so you might miss some info if you skip through it. Anyways, since you guys enjoyed the timestamps on the last video, here you go: 1:19 - Different types of modulation explained 6:46 - Audio rate modulation: linear FM 8:55 - Audio rate modulation: exponential FM 11:30 - Audio rate modulation: ring mod 13:30 - Some more examples 15:46 - Macro knobs 18:00 - Modulators: Envelope 23:08 - Modulators: LFO 29:25 - Modulators: Random 33:07 - MIDI: Note 36:44 - MIDI: Pressure 38:02 - MIDI: Velocity 39:49 - Utilities: Multiply 44:35 - Utilities: Max 46:12 - Utilities: Min
Thanks for the video. According to "Multiply" what in the other version is called "Scale". This tool is powerful to create many interesting e.g. LFOs or some other modulations. I took unipolar square LFO rhythmically related to the song, then multiply some sine LFO and got a very interesting new LFO, which then was like periodically switched on and off sine. I added this to harmonic, getting very interesting rhythmical tone modulation. The good thing is, that as in all cases, one can see the result of multiplying/scaling.
Kinda new subscriber here only been following u for a month because of phaseplant.. But now i cant stop watching all of ur tuts.. clear, informative, and really helpful. Keep up the good work. PS loved ur fugees remix stream really dope
Someone who is actually knows what they are talking about and knows how to share that information...and I didn't have to watch 8 hours of video to get there!
46:05 How can I rename modulation sources? I have only been able to rename groups and macro's 😢 (And, well, labelling is the best way to make clear and easy-to-understand patches. Especially if you continue working on it after some time). PS: Thanks voor het maken van deze serie. Ik vond Phaseplant nog een beetje intimiderend met de bijna ongelimiteerde mogelijkheden die het biedt. Ik ben ook erg benieuwd naar de volgende, over de effecten 😁
At around 5:08 you start talking about *renaming envelopes* in order to make it easier to find them and separate them. I have tried, but I just *can't* work out how to do that. HOW do you rename an envelope? (Thanks for a good video!)
Thanks for the vid! I want to support you, how thick is the material on your shirts? I live near equator and thin shirts don't survive more than 3 weeks of summer sweating
So there's no way to have a global random LFO? I.e. one where it doesn't restart at a different random value with each note? Like turning off "retrigger" on the normal LFO?
Yeah that's what I thought, I tried it out but the result was not what I wanted or maybe I was setting it up wrong. I actually tried it when recording this video but cut that part out because it didn't work as expected.
its not like they keep it a secret. but they go for around 10€ on sale or used so its not that expensive. also they give away the bit crusher at plugin alliance or adsr right now if you buy anything.

Fantastic video. Best one I've seen on PhasePlant. Learned a lot (especially the Multiplier section)! Thanks for this, my g!
Thanks man, more to come soon!
You did a great job on these videos very in depth solid tutorial series on phase pkant. Thanks again ArtFx

On the Macros - you can also automate the Macros with the mod wheel, that's a neat function too

I have the same question !

Great tutorial, big up! )
The NOTE modulator scale is not wide enough to modulate some knobs within one octave for example. That the case, where multiplier will be useful.

Mate big ups, can I request how to make the bass in Benny L - Vanta black! Really wanna know how to do that haha
at 11:23 you forgot to link a video
Well good tool, Its sort of a modular synth?
why does no one mention the fact that the affects you have to pay separately and they're expensive. I would have liked to know that before i bought it
Kilohearts makes this pretty obvious on their website when buying the plugin.
its not like they keep it a secret. but they go for around 10€ on sale or used so its not that expensive. also they give away the bit crusher at plugin alliance or adsr right now if you buy anything.
Thank you very much for these insights.
The only question is: How can we subtract the noise of your ventilator within Phase Plant ;-)
Can't help that it was 40+ degrees Celcius lol
a "linear line". Hell yeah. 😏👌
Ya'll who like this synth, should try Bitwig Studio as well 👌🏽
❤
Actually those utility devices are kind of genius.
nothing new under the sun....
