Thank You! Remember there are 2 axises Major and minor, these will give you the length and width of your ellipse so you don’t need the circumference. Hope that helps!
@@thebuilditchannel8609 thank you for your answer. I do actually need to make an oval to a specific size. I am making a pattern and need to attach fabric to the sides so i need the exact measurements for it to fit together. I don't understand how to calculate the circumference or perimeter using the major and minor axis. I guess there is some kind of formula that i have long forgotten or never understood because i was never very good at math anyway.
brilliant video, superbly clear and well explained. Thank you. Also, can you provide a link or source for the cable seals you use? Can't seem to find them online.
Thank you for your explanation. How can one draw an ellipse on a piece of paper without using nails to anchor the focal points though? I am trying to draw an ellipse for a painting.
Thanks!! There is a way to draw out an ellipse which I briefly show in the video but I don’t have a full video. I’m sure you can find a video on TH-cam showing that method, there are quite a few steps.
You can pick any two values for the major and minor axis, all dependent on what look your after. When the two axis have the same value you have a circle, so your either elongating the circle vertically or horizontally.
I appreciate the idea of using non stretch line with cable ties. However I have looked all over the internet to find these two items and have come up with nothing. Will you help by giving source information?
Thank you for your quick response. Much appreciated. It is the 200 lb. test line I am having trouble locating but I can deal with that. Thank you again.
AN "ECLIPSE" @4.48 IS A:the total or partial obscuring of one celestial body by another - YOU ARE DRAWING AN "ELLIPSE" - POOR EXAMPLE VIDEO WHEN YOU CHANGE THE TOPIC HALFWAY THROUGH THE VIDEO???
I’m aware of that, it’s called a mistake. I assumed most people were smart enough to realize that in a video clearly about drawing an ellipse, you would not get confused and think I completely changed the topic without any visual representation of an eclipse, solar, lunar or otherwise. I guess the moral of the story is don’t assume!!
after watching 4 or 5 videos on this i finally found you and now i understand fully! Thanks so much for making thin simple explanation video!
@@gabriellovin7227 Thanks for watching, glad it helped!!😁
I kind of knew how to do this--except for where/how to place the foci. Brilliant!
Wow..... complicated stuff.... simplified..👍 well done!
Genius. I got great results after not overthinking the process. Thanks for sharing.
@@JeremyDuckArt Thank you!! Glad it work great!!
I just watched 3 other videos on how to draw an ellipse... this is the best by far!
Thank you!! Glad you liked it!!😁
Excellent job of instruction. This coming from a 27 year veteran teacher. VERY comprehensible!!
Thank You!! 😁👍🏻
Enjoyed that very helpful wish you all the success in your Chanel
Thanks so much for the tip on the fishing line and cable stops, I was wondering how I was going to keep everything accurate and consistent.
Very very useful and complete explanation, your channel deserves much more views/subscribers.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
great presentation, please keep them coming, thanks
Thank You!!😁👍🏻
Fantastic explanation!
love the cord action
Very informative and well done video!! I also would appreciate a link to the adjustable cable seals that you used. Thank you in advance. John Jensen
Fantastic video! This is by far the most thorough explanation I’ve come across. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this and share it!
Thank you, appreciate it glad you liked it!!😁👍🏻
Your work is great
Stay well
Thank You!!
Your videos are so good.
Thanks!!
Wish you had been my math teacher! Teachers often fail to relate math to anything relatable, especially for kids that are hands on learners.
Thanks for watching, I agree with that completely, math is very poorly taught!!
Very useful - thank you.

Does the length of minor axis be in accordance to major axis (maybe by a formula) , or we can pick any two values? Btw great video, Very helpful

The line is Fishing Line which you can get on Amazon or a local fishing shop. The cable ties you can get at Home Depot or online at McMaster-Carr.

exactly what kind of cable seal is that? I've seen them tons of times and now I cannot find them.
I got that at Home Depot just a cable seal in the hardware section.
👍
