Just rescued a 5 year old silver dapple! His name is Chips and he is so adorable. He was a breeder dog with 2 different breeders then given up to a local dachshund adoption group. He was in 2 foster homes before I was able to adopt him forever. He looks very much like your Gracie. It’s been 5 weeks and he is now almost completely opened up and believing he is in his forever home. Such a sweetie and I love him so much. He is our 3rd. Penny, a wild boar red mini long-hair female from 6 weeks to 16 years, then Tazer, a wild boar short-hair male adopted from the same rescue at age 8 until 16, and now Chips. So going into year 25 of having a dachshund at my feet 24/7/365. I just love them all so very much.
How fantastic that you have given them homes, lovely to hear and now another, Chips. I hope he continues to relax and enjoy his new home, thank you for watching x
Thank you for these videos, we have found you this morning and have only watched two videos so far and have already learnt so much. We have two boys coming in a fortnight. After having Westies for the last 16 years, we are hoping the transition to dachshunds will be smooth 😊 Our Amazon basket is growing 😁 Kindest regards, Suzanne and Kipper Tranter
Very cute. All of your pets the puppies, your older dog and Guinea pig are adorable. And those pictures your daughter did are beautiful. She did a great job.
Thank you for sharing. I just picked up my Dachshund baby Belle 2 days ago. She wants to snuggle or chew everything in site. It is good to see more babies. Again, thank you for sharing.
Our other dog is Bella, hope it's going well, they are a bit stubborn to toilet train, took about 4 to 6 weeks but got there in the end, thanks for watching ❣️

I have 3 adult and 3 (almost) 8 week old dachshunds. One of my female dapples looks like Gracie. When your video showed the puppies crying (in the morning), my parents dachshunds went crazy thinking it was their babies making the sounds.
I’ve been called an irresponsible dog owner because I got two dachshunds ☹️ because of littermate syndrome. Any advice on bringing up two happy pups into adulthood x
@@janinerossiter5020 Be involved with them. Training, rewards, lots of playtime. I also walked separately when they started to venture out to get them used to my commands. It's really not hard.

Wow, that's a lot of work for 2 puppies. Makes me doubt my ability to care for one dachshund pup.... 🙃 living up high in an apartment building. Great artwork by your daughter btw.
Thank you, yes, they definitely kept me busy, training them to go outside took longer than my other dog but once you are through the first two months it's much easier x
I definitely agree not to use them for too long but for us, with two puppies who slept through the night from day one (because they were together), it gave me reassurance they if they needed to go, they had somewhere. I stopped them after two or three weeks. If used for too long then yes, they can be very confusing x
I have two dachshund pups ( 13 weeks now). Doing well on toilet training, a few accidents but that’s to be expected. Do they still sleep together or in separate crates at night ? Do your girls play fight? Beautiful pups ❤
Hi, mine sleep together and are very happy because they are sisters and they play fight lots, even now at 18 months, it's great and only twice have I had to calm it down. Toilet training was hard but they do get it eventually, even now I try to pop them out every two hours xx
Thank you for showing me these puppies. Do they bark even with the radio or the TV ? Actually I am really thinking of getting a Dachshund puppy. The blue eyes are beautiful. I don't have a garden. Do you think it is a problem ?
The radio and TV are fine, if there was a lot of barking on the TV they probably would bark back but stop when asked to. They are quite stubborn to house train and as puppies I took them outside a lot. So definitely difficult in the beginning with no garden and especially if it rains but once they get it you would probably have to go out 4 or 5 times a day for them x
Dachshunds definitely need good training and a lot of time, if you plan to not be home all the time then they may be tricky. That saying, they are the most loving dogs ever and will protect you to the death xx
No, they never have but we have to watch one of them for going on the rug near the door, we always put her out every two hours (every 45 mins when they were puppies) to make sure she's got the opportunity to go. She's absolutely fine at night though x
Thank you for this video! My first dachshund passed recently at 13 and Im devastated I had to get another one. I immediately said yes then a few days later I started panicking because its been ages since I had a puppy and now Im gonna have two!!!! I am not backing out but still so nervous. So thanks for this video I relearned how baby dachshunds are and I think Im ready for two! Aah!!!
i just got two little one my self, i see that you crate them together, have you seen any problems with them ? i've heard that they may only want to be with each other? but i feel like with this breed they are so social they will be okay. Let me know if anyone has an opinion
Hi, yes, I've been asked this quite a bit, our two have been excellent but I did walk them separately about 3 or 4 days a week when they were younger. Gracie was and still is a bit tricky. This guaranteed they were OK apart and yes, they are so desperate for your attention that they prefer sitting on our laps rather than together. If you catch it early I think they should be OK x
Hello! Want to say they are adorable! I want to ask about them being with the Guinea pigs, I have got two piggies and am interested in getting a dachshund puppy soon :) how are they getting along? thanks
The dogs really enjoy watching them but they are never left alone together. The guineas have a run outside and the dogs don't try and chase them or hassle them so it's working well really, thanks for watching xx
Hey!!! ♡ I have one male smooth haired black/tan Doxie 4 month old pup.. I nearly bought two but the breeder said no due to littermate syndrome?? Did your friends mention it to you? The breeder of my dog made a really big deal over it and honestly said no!! xx
Yes, we were aware and definitely gave them time apart, separate walks etc so it's been fine. They actually sleep better at night together so I'm pleased with two however it is harder work overall x
Hi everyone, has anyone got any thought on key differences between male and female dachshund? Apart from the obvious, has anyone noticed any difference with their temperaments, so for example would you say males are more affectionate or does it depend on the dog?
As I only have girls I can't say re boys but these two are definitely a stubborn pair, food is a great help with training, they are very reactive but that is just the breed really, hopefully you will get some other replies x
