University at Buffalo Global Health Day Symposium 2023: Women's Health

This year’s topics included the maternity mortality crisis, health effects of environmental exposures, dietary patterns and periodontal diseases among postmenopausal women, the effects of wars and conflicts on maternal health, dietary pulse consumption and more.
Junfeng Zhang, professor of global and environmental health and chair of the Environmental Science & Policy Division in the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, presented the keynote speech, “Air Pollution and Women’s Health: Exposure Vulnerability and Biological Susceptibility.”
Erin M. Bell, professor in the School of Public Health and interim assistant vice president for research compliance at the University at Albany, presented “Global Implication of PFAS exposure and Perinatal Health: What we know, what we don't know and what are we learning.”
