They're going strong since 1986 and have sooooo much energy.
Also, Stick To Your Guns is a must in every HC list, because of their lyrics, engagement, energy ... They're a band that can really pull you through on difficult days and their live performances are insane.

On violence ay hatebreed shows.... saw them when I was 15 (32 now). Bunch of older friends brought me and snook me into the opera house. We were at the front the whole show, some like 30 year old girl pushed in front of me (which was fine, we had our time at the front) but she had long ass dreads. She kept headbanging and thrashing me with them and when I asked her to stop she doubled down. Well...one of her dreads became lodged in my super edgy wristband with spikes and not really thinking I just pulled as hard as I could to get it off. She happened to be on the forward trajectory of headbanging, so her motion coupled with me yanking the opposite way let me to have a whole ass 3 foot long dread stuck to my wrist. She just looked shocked and left the pit. I threw the wristband away never to be seen again. Then we drank beer in a minivan with no seats facing the wrong way the whole trip back. Good times.

yep, their 2nd release "In god We Trust, Inc." was an early hardcore classic, followed by the epic "Plastic Surgery Disasters" - their first album is slower "punk" but they amped it way up by 1981. I feel like people forget about them because they weren't in one of the hardcore hotspots - which were LA and DC in the early 80's. Same thing with excellent 80's bands like Big Boys (Texas), Husker Du (Minnesota), Squirrelbait (Kentucky), No Means No (Victoria BC), The Ex (Amsterdam), Dog Faced hermans (Scotland then Amsterdam). I was in a hardcore band here in the UK from about 2008-2010, and we used to cover Terror and Guns Up (I think we formed because the bassist posted a Myspace bulletin saying he wanted to form a band that sounded like Terror; that's how old I am).
So many bands used to cover Guns Up back then, and it would always go down a storm. I remember us supporting some European band once, and they went fucking nuts when we played Guns Up. I wonder how many other bands have disappeared into obscurity despite being genuinely influential.

When they came to Brisbane on their worldwide farewell tour in 2009, the venue (Princess Theatre - RIP) was the most packed i had ever seen it. One of the craziest show i ever went to. I'd go see them in a heart beat if they came back here.

I think it would be cool personally if when you're showing these hardcore songs, you can have a space where your just present while the music's playing. It kind of robs the listener of the feeling when you talk over the band's music.
