This so wonderful. The water is very clear n the man says it's soft after tasting meaning not salty. God makes streams in dry lands n turns them to be fertile with all sorts of foods n fruits. He's a wonderful God

The world can never make you Africans happy. The Universities in Kenyan must send their scientist for long term development of this water resource. This water may only be temporary. No more talking get on with studying for long term benefits.
when i heard your suggestion i said fk that..i mean i grew up like most using raw river water, really got sick and never thought of ph & shyte til i got some education -that water is even better than what villagers were accustomed to guaranteed- plus they have benefits of all those engineers who for sure are not just village laymen- i mean what is wrong with you bro, just want to critic for sake of it...
On the other hand: Kibiko residents who live around the surrounding overburden of the tunnel will and have noticed a dramatic drop in their borehole/well water! There are two sides to this story! Moreover, what happens when the abstraction via the tunnel exceeds the ground recharge above it...?
I assume the mountain you're referring to is the north edge of the Ngong Hills slope, or just beyond the Ngong volcanic cone where there is lots of faulting resulting in the escarpment-rift landscape. The tunnel is about 4.5 km long, and highest point above it is about 100 meters near the middle (Kibiko area), so it's no surprise that it rams through an aquifer or more. I also assume that with all the faulting (of various degrees), that aquifers are not as isolated and indeed interconnected (there are several springs withing a few km of the tunnel). Which means that over-abstracting this aquifer could be detrimental to other adjacent aquifers and springs. As a developing nation, we must be careful how we utilize our natural resources; celebrating, yes, the blessings of striking liquid gold, but being very mindful that such resources are very finite and disruptive activities (infrastructure, boreholes) can have long-term consequences including conflict between communities.
Totally agree with your views. Though im sure they;re going to plug in the holes since its not safe for running water to be present in a Railway Tunnel.
Kenyan scientists & other water professionals please quickly study the acquifer and especially young Kenyans in iniversity to study it. All you Kenyans are good at writing on the blogs cursing others when this is an opportunity to know more of Kenyan's water resources.
It's too early to celebrate. Seems this occurrence caught the Chinese contractors by surprise. Clearly, the boundary conditions of the aquifer has been altered and this requires a hydro-geological assessment of the area to establish the impact of the blast on the sub-regional and regional groundwater system. This could be pose several serious challenges in the near future e.g. 1. Reduction of water flow to the lower elevated areas 2. Inflow into the tunnel can risk it's stability and this is a safety concern.
How many springs are in kenya and we dont know, sababu our politicians are just abusing each other.Millions are send to NYS and Minitry of Resources, they do nothing just kulipa mishahara instead ya kuincrease salaries in private companies.
Nothing is for free. Future generations have already been enslaved. We have to initiate projects that uplift the quality of life for the common mwananchi. With the current crop of "leaders" & the normalization of corruption, we have an uphill task.
Am happy for those residents, please give them the water.
good news is good news ..kenyans pls dont hate on everything .
The Chinese are very interesting guys. They have showed and done for us more in less than 5 years than the Mzungu did in over 100 years
What have we done for ourselves before we lay blame on others
The education mzungu gave you is the greatest gift any human can give you. Tafakari hayo ndugu yangu
Kenya imebarikiwa na itazidi kubarikiwa.

Kenya has everything, but shida NI uwizi tu
Peace - no doubt about that. Kenya is such a rich country!
What has wizi got to do with such a great discovery??? I think being GRATEFUL, THANKFUL is more in order.

Kenya and Africa at large.

I presume water is now exported to China for Chinese people . What is Kenyans going to drink. China really have no benefit from this spring well.
Springs of Life.🌊💦
Where there is water, there is life. Thank you China.
karibu
This is really good.
We have resources but we have no means of extracting them
....while in Nairobi they pollute rivers and ask why buildings beside them should be demolished.
Please connect some of it to Nairobi Eastlands😂

God is good. Bless the Chines workers.
There should be build a water plant to distribute it in tubes to the households and not to let it run waisted in some random lake to raise mosquitoes
And who is to check pH and the rest prior to ???
Already done we r not dump like you!

Theyve just said they tested it. what video are you watching?

This water could be seasonal don't give the Chinese any credit
It also means that the water table has changed. Mto zingine hapo zitakauka
i know right smh, people never see the bigger picture, that water was going somewhere now its not
Yeah, you should always colonized by white, politically by past, and economically by now. Never trust we Chinese and keep poverty with you
It depends where.....and language used will give an answer.....
Wow, thats good !!
Isn't that wonderful..

This was an untapped aquifer deep inside the mountain they were drilling.

In this case the Kenyan scientists & government must quickly get on studying it. No point letting the water go to waste.
As you are worrying so much and you are so talented. why are you not doing this constructions with your own design and your own application?

And there our water technicians have work....not for big companies but from ngong i hope...next will be oil......
