Dear Sir, I'm from Nuwara eliya, Sri Lanka. Seven years ago I built my house. The problem was I didn't have enough money to build the two storey full house ( Ground floor 1098 square foot & first floor 1098 square foot ) I built only 425 square foot ground floor. I built only 425 square foot reinforced concrete slab out of 1098 square foot reinforced concrete slab seven years ago. Now I have enough money to complete the ground floor. But an engineer says if I bond the other new 673 square foot reinforced concrete slab strengthen of the reinforced concrete slab will go down & cracks will happen & there will be water leakage through the joint. Are they true? Will you please kindly let me know the procedure how to avoid the loss of strengthen & cracks & water leakage? Please reply soon.
