After seeing this video and one from Simnett Nutrition and one from a couple named Nick and Katie, along with the reading some comments, I have come to the conclusion that- The best thing to do would be to stick to a minimum of 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet in depth for each post. Each post should be an 8 x 8, not a 4 x 4, especially if you plan to possibly want to be a little more rough with how you grab onto the bar, or run and jump at it for example. You should have 2 people for the job if you can. You should make sure you have some little scrap wooden pieces and screws so you can use them to make the posts stand still as the concrete sets in around them. Make sure you use a leveler when setting in the pipe. If anything has to be exactly level, it should be that pipe. The posts should be cedarwood or heat treated so that they last a really long time (a decade or more) The diameter of the pipe is usually 1 inch thick from Nick and Katie’s and Simnett nutritions and in Nick and Katie’s, the girl seemed to be able to pull herself up just fine on it so- it must be a good size for just about any man for sure. As for how high the bar should be, it seems like you’d want to have to extend yourself just a little bit to grab onto the bar so you don’t feel like your feet may end up touching the floor at some point or even high enough to where you gotta give a little “hop”/jump to reach onto the bar. For me at only 5’7, a bar around 7 Feet would suffice around this sweet spot. 7.5 might be a little too high but we’ll see. (this is why having two different pipes at different heights like you comes in handy if anything. The pipe shouldn’t be less than 60 inches in length. A 70 inch pipe in place looks a little bit better in terms of space to grab onto in case you wanna run at it and grab onto it but I love how at 60 inches, yours looks more minimalist. It doesn’t take up much space and it gives it that professional “park-look” I’ve seen at my local parks many times. The base could look way better and professional if you used a sono tube to shape the concrete nicely. It’s not entirely necessary to drill holes all the way through each post to put the bar through but I’m guessing you did this so that you could… Actually, I’m not really sure why you had to drill all the way through because I didn’t really get a close look at the holes drilled or how the flange looks on your bars. I think I I saw the flange on the outside of the posts. I would love to actually be able to slide my bar in and out, moving it to different heights but be able to secure it in it’s new position but I think this might be asking for too much. Hopefully you’ll let me know if that’s what’s the case with your bars and why are you screwed all the way through your posts. Thanks man.
How hard is this stuff to remove? I’m currently renting, and have a quarter acre yard, but unfortunately only one tree. Will wait till I buy my own place to make stuff like this, but for now I will at minimum need a post to attach the other end of my slack line to. I Guess you just dig it up, smash the concrete and throw it away…good thing I have a 15 lb sledgehammer! With just one it should be doable in a weekend I guess? If I fill the hole with soil and plant grass before I leave hopefully the land lady won’t be mad…
I get the somo tube idea but what’s the post connector with bolts for? Is it supposed to connect the posts together or is this gonna be some thing that connects each post individually to its concrete base?
Love your attitude and easy tutorial
I absolutely love your smile brother! So much positivity and groundness it's lovely
Bar + Rings life!! Love the simplicity of the setup

And how would you go about security the bars? 8 inches is huge, 100mm is plenty thick and I'd go with 2 inch pipe.
Thank you for the guidance. I live within a HOA controlled community and will attempt to get this approved for installation.
Just purchased my supplies for my backyard gym. I’m extremely excited. LET’S GO!!!! 😆THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!!!
Update?
Al, you’ve been helpful since i first started calisthenics back when i was 13 and i’m 26 now
Thanks💪🙏
what
🔥🔥🔥i will have something like this in my backyard
I have a serious question. I like this design but I'm on a budget. Would it be cheaper if I just make it out of only galvanized pipe. No wood.?
Nice. Good to see a legend of calisthenics is still cranking.
Thank you for this video. I've been trying to learn more regarding wood working and working out. I figure I can do this... right?
This is my idea gym, calisthenics outside for body and mind. Looks class❤
This video was😮 helpful
Brilliant! Thanks for the specs

Great stuff!!!! I just need a backyard:-) with yoga trapeze at home i also do yoga and callisthenics.
This guy's positivity:) I'm a curmudgeon but dudes great
What tips or tricks do you have to ensure the posts stay upright while the concrete is setting?
Thanks for the information. 👍 Possible summer project.
How do you secure the pipes so they don't roll when you grab them ? Or does gravity take care of that
Thanks Al! I'm going to do this.
Thank you
How is the bar secured in the posts? Some bituminous paint on the base of the posts wouldn't hurt.
how long is the piping? I'm wondering how far to place the poles apart. Thanks for the ideas!
Greetings from ireland. Well done great job .
Great video
Majestic as always
You can use pipes instead of the wood posts
Thnks for sharing
How do you mount the piping, as to stop it from rotating?
Can you share the plan?
I'm planning this but my auger goes only two feet down I believe. That's seems like a lot of cements. I hope mine works
Awesome thanks
Awsome 👏 thanks for the idea
How do the wooden posts not rot in the ground?
Bilgiler için teşekkür ederim ✅️
Looking good Alkavadlo
Just what i was looking for
how far apart are the posts for 7.5ft and the 9ft?
You the man,Man
Do you think you can also hang a punching bag from the 9 foot one?
You earned my sub! Nice vid!
Doing it!
good idea, al!
Is it okay if your ring get wet when raining?
Those are Marmati aluminium rings: rain no problem.
Dope video dope vibes w mans
trying to figure out where utilities are in yard so I can dig safely. How you check?
Just dig carefully. There’s not really any way to know if it’s not marked
You’ll be fine digging 3 ft
Dope. The wood will rot soon tho. Next time make a base w a sono tube and use a post connecter w bolts. Also 8x8
The wood was treated with a waterproof coating so hopefully it won’t rot. I’ve already had it over a year but I guess we’ll see…
@@alkavadlo 10 years or less unless it's cedar or pressure treated.
@@bodyzoasispersonaltraining9186oh crap thanks for the advice

How far apart are the poles ? Like how long is the bar? 4 feet?
The high bar is 6 feet long, the low bar is 5 feet long.
Thanks!
good video, no BS. Subed!
Great stuff !
AL , what diameter piping do you use?
Woo would love a list of parts.
pretty sure its just wooden timber fence posts and pipes for the bar
@@miricledev10 bags of concrete too
Hey Al, what about parallel bars? Have them, or plans to install?Recommended height, length?
I just use the rings instead
Thanks youuu
Alright now how should I go about doing this in Phoenix without leaving skin on the bars 😂
Does the wood not rot if it rains?
It is pretreated with a water resistant coating. Most hardware stores offer this option
@@alkavadlo how long does it last?
@@princejamesp.sanchez4230depends how often it rains
My man!!!
thanks g
I’m building this in my village
200 lbs of concrete per post ?
2 and a half bags per post so ten bags in total. Cots about 5 bucks per bag so cost about 50 bucks for the concrete alone
Hey. How tall are you ?
How much did it cost in total?
I don't remember exactly but it was relatively cheap - maybe a couple hundred dollars for everything
Smooth as Ice and Twice as Nice !!!!
Wanna build this in my house
Nice🎉🎉
Nice!!!
🔥

Should be better with steel pipe in the ground ( i used that in my outside gym) wood will rotten in some years.
It’s treated so it should stand the test of time

Why was bro breathing so hard😂
Fr the camera man is for sure not using the equipment 😂😂
200 might be a bit overkill hahaha
