Every engineer's dream client, prepared and talented. Kirk had less than 1 hour to record the solo because Lars had taken all day recording the drum tracks doing wee parts over and over, he never played a song start to finish in the studio, Kirk was joking about it but he wasn't happy and engineers hate Lars because he was never prepped, never took direction and argued over every little detail, they had to edit, cut and copy/paste all his tracks to make him sound better than he is.
@@andrew_patreon As a graduate of A/V Engineering I would never wish a Lars type of client on anyone. Let him get his way and bad things happen, look at what he did to Jason's bass tracks on Justice or the trash can snare on St. Anger. Ever ask yourself why Lars never does drum solos, fan workshops where he shows off to drum padawans or why he can't play covers of any other thrash bands? It's because he really does suck and he's stubborn, refuses to use a click track in concert which is infuriating to any musicians listening when he randomly changes tempo and goes off beat. Kriss' version isn't the studio version, she changed it up a bit throughout but she did it well, to the average listener it sounds more or less the same, but to a drummer her fills and personal changes blend flawlessly unlike Lars' out of place and far too often drum rolls and fills.
@@ll7868 Yes, bass was pretty much non-existent on that album! Maybe that was as much on Jason as it was Lars. If you’re a regular on Kriss’ streams (highly recommended, really), you’ll see that she often improves on the original drum part through her own improvs and natural flair 🔥 - hopefully see you on a live stream soon 🙌🏼
@@andrew_patreon No, it was all on Lars, he turned off the bass tracks to haze him even after the engineer advised him not to. They got in an argument and Lars got his way. Jason was and still is pissed about it as are the fans who bought that album. The only song with bass tracks is To Live Is To Die out of respect for Cliff who wrote it. There are plenty of fan made versions of the full album with the bass tracks added and turned up to 11, they sound so much better, chunkier and with more groove than the Lars Cut.

Metal is just generally quite popular in Europe and if you like metal you like Metallica. They likely have a bigger audience in numbers in the US but a bigger audience in Europe as a percentage of population, heavy metal is in the charts quite often. And all of Europe combined does have a bigger population than the US so a higher fan density makes it easier to fill venues and if you have a bunch of countries who like metal with a bunch of cities that like metal next to each other it makes sense to tour there extensively, where you can do 100 shows covering the same distance than 10 in the US which statistically is just empty unpopulated wilderness for the most part, if we ignore the coasts, which is where bands tour. So it's a range of factors. Also the monopolisation of radio stations that happened with the 1992? Télécommunications Act in the US, did happen in Europe but way less extensively so you do still hear all sorts of stuff on the radio. For instance Judas Priest' recent album charted in the top 5 in most countries in Europe. Kinda funny. Adele, hip hop dudes, Miley Cyrus and a 50 year old heavy metal band from Birmingham. Also he said jamming the guitar for 25 years... not 25 yo. I have for 20 years and started at 12 so 12 + 20 and correct I am 32... blanket statements about entire generations rarely lead to intelligent discourse or truth. Which of course is typical of a boomer haha. Old folks... I'm 32 and play in a symphonic metal band. What's my gear? Tele or Flying V, tubescreamer, proco rat, Plexi style amp... we aren't so different just because the Earth flew around the sun a few morw times before we came along. Also we'll live longer so there that. Last laugh and all that.
That's a lot to remember !!!! I thought there were hi hat lifts, I didn't know that it was cymbal catches at certain times in the slower instrumental part. And after all these years of air-drumming that song....lol I'm 51 and remember when that came out... Haaaaaaa Excellent job !!!!! You captured that so well !!!!! Your a VERY talented drummer !!!!! Your drums sound amazing too !!!!! Thanks for playing one of my favorite Metallica songs !!! 👍😁👍
Metallica master of puppets is my favorite song from Metallica thank you Kristina you always make me happy I love your content your my favorite drummer 🌹❤️❤️
That was incredibly impressive. Metallica is such a kickass band, and have some of the longest, fast paced songs of any band. You absolutely crushed it too, awesome job!
My friend who taught me on Guitar was a huge Metallic fan. No surprise he got me to learn alot of the Rhytm guitar tracks. You nailed Lars style. It looks like you could play it with your eyes closed.. lol Awesome!!
Bravo. When I watched your short video, I said, "Of course, it's difficult, how can you play all of them?" But when I watched the long video, I took back my words. Bravo again...

As a dude who has been jamming guitar for 25 years..I truly feel like Europeans have more appreciation for American rock n roll than we do...
No they don’t , you 25 year olds think you know everything

Come on guys, Lars is a sick drummer 🔥
@@kriss_drummer I don't know this Lars, who is he?
But Lars also created these drum patterns. This is something another drummer has to replace too.
