Wow she IS talented.....I recall...when she was very young and her mother ( in interviews ) would said that her daughter was shy................I just now discovered her as a performer..
This was a great concert, and to a packed house. UM Gusman is a small venue, but it is not "sold-out" for many of the performances during Festival Miami. Gaby Moreno didn't sell out the place, and neither did Natalia Lafourcade, Raquel Sofia nor La Santa Cecilia, just to name a few.
I love her mother but I’m just not a fan of her style of music, to each their own though right? I’m sure she’ll have a bright career in something musical, whatever path she chooses to pursue but even before Emily I’ve just really not been a fan of this “sound”, I don’t know what you’d call this a mixture of blues/soulful/jazz ? I’m sure she’ll go far, but if it wasn’t for her parents do you think she would’ve actually pursued this career path? just saying. Maybe if she’d pickup the sound /movement more? More dancing , more show, more stage presence ... than maybe it’d be more interesting for me to want to watch? Idk 🤷🏻♂️ there’s no crowd involvement, no stage presence, no “show” , she just stands there making moaning sounds ... haha ...Emily I’m sure you will continue to develop your own fan base! I would love to hear more of your own stuff, perhaps more Spanish? I love her mothers Spanish singing. 😘❤️
