Back then they didn't have things in the studio to enhance your vocals and you had to do one whole take flawlessly. They didn't piece songs together back then. You had to have true talent.

There has been a recent turn up of a full episode that’s probably 1-2 generations older based off of the quality difference.

It's beautiful - I was 5 or 6 and later on in '64 and 65, when I was about 14, I'd clutch my little red transistor radio to my ear at 4am when the DJ's would play the oldies such as this sweet one. I loved them all.

The girls were feminine but modest, boys had more mechanical knowledge than they have today, the music back then had far more variety than it has today. I'm 73 now and I wouldn't want to be any younger. I'll just keep all my memories of life back then even though I can't remember what I did last week.

Because they were performed by artists that had the attitude of "we are a class act, and here to entertain you".
There was no super-duper processing on the audio either - the recording is truly how the singers sounded.
