This is my next purchase. I talked to a customer service rep that told me all you have to do is request smooth swing on models and they will accommodate that request. I have been looking at Crimson Sabers for a while. I do like them. I think they might be related to Rebel Sabers. They have a lot of the same hilts. I have handled one of Rebels Saber's hilts and I really liked it. I want the Solstice in the silver and gold. I really like that one a lot.
I'm not very familiar with Rebel Sabers, but I've heard some good things. I think their hilts might look similar to Crimson Dawn because both of them and Darkwolf start with LGT empties and add better electronics.

Spend the extra $60.00 and get the Proffie Neopixel sabers! The sound on the plain neo pixel are not any better than the efx sabers. The new Crimson Dawn proffie neopixels as of the 1st are even better with the extra fonts/colors and now they have exposed sd card and usb port for adding fonts and colors and blade styles!

There isn't an option on the website to add a heavy blade to a saber but they do sell heavy blades. You might could call and work it out to where you can just pay the difference. What aspects do you find more attractive? Durability, screen accuracy, technology (sound board capabilities)? Do you prefer sabers patterned after certain characters or original designs? What is you preferred force alignment? What you want will change your approach. At $450, you could get several inexpensive sabers, a couple of really good sabers, or potentially one great one.

I would like to get a saber for like nerd decor for my bedroom but also plan to use it for spins etc. If I were to be very picky I would go with a proffie with neo pixel. I really liked the Vanquish saber(dont remember the vendor). I really enjoy the sabers that have that slow ignition/ retraction. @@torresmarc816 Yes, there are tons of great saber companies. Curved aggressive sith hilt with neopixel to me says Saberforge Vanquish, Bane Mk 2, or the new Cyber Assasin but all of those will eat up your entire budget. The Vanquish is out of stock right now. If you are willing to solder you could order an empty and get the DIY Build kit to save money, but they're out of stock too. Crimson Dawn doesn't have any curved hilts, but you can certainly check all of the other boxes. They have the cheapest Proffie Neopixel sabers I know of. You could get a Shrike ot Osprey in proffie neopixel for $290 out the door and still afford to get a base lit tier 3 mystery box for your cousin and be under budget. You could get a matching Osprey or Shrike for your cousin, he gets LED and you get pixel but otherwise they would look alike. They'll run you about $150 and you'd still be $10 under your $450 budget. You could go to The Pach Store and get the Ultimate Works FST (Kit Kisto) with Asteria neopixel for $339, the UW RVS (Revan Sith) in proffie pixel for $369 then pick up a Crimson Dawn tier 2 saber from Crimson Dawn and be close to your budget. I own sabers from all of those companies and would recommend them from experience. There are also some great sabers from Darkwolf and Rebel Sabers ( they use LGT hilts same as Crimson Dawn so they will look very similar) that would fit into your price point for 2 sabers. I don't own those 2 personally but I know enough people that I trust that do and am comfortable recommending them. There are a lot more sabers out there that fit what you're looking for, but I don't think there are too many more that fit what you're looking for in both sabers in your price point. Continually, take a look at some of their Facebook posts. They will work hard to fill orders even when they are showing sold out on the website. You can message the owner directly. He will answer you back. If you order a mystery box they'll send you what is in stock. Ask about particular hilts. They have outstanding customer service!

Why not both? CD has a coupler for connecting 2 sabers into a staff for $10. You could start with one Antares for now and get another when you get the money. You could ask on their Facebook page to make sure the couple will work with the Antares. I don't have an Antares or a CD staff yet. From all the sabers you’ve reviewed are these the best value for the money? From what I’ve seen ultra-sabers sound is a bit more clear that crimson dawns sound is. To me it sounds a little muffled not sure if its just me. Is it different in person? Im thinking about getting a saber from crimson dawn so I’m curious to see what you think.
I think Crimson Dawn is the best value. You get more for what you pay. They aren't perfect. LGT sabers could be louder, but I think the price and what you get outweighs the negative. I like the modular design and that the cores are interchangeable and easy to swap.
@@themeparkdna683 yeah I really like that idea so that you can make any hilt a neopixle saber! I also love that they are rechargeable and don’t require batteries like ultra-sabers which leads to the blade changing color. I have a dark apprentice v5 with the blue violet amethyst blade color and dark dorinian pommel and it runs through the batteries so quick and changes to a more fuchsia pink color because the blue LED fades first for some reason. I love the saber but its a little disappointing….

I haven't. I don't have a S3 yet, but I'd like one. I've had a lot of expenses this year and will need to hold off on buying any more sabers for a bit. I'd love to review one.
The brightness difference is fairly significant, but that largely depends on which color. It's hard to quantify, but there is a significant difference. The brightness in colors can also vary greatly in brightness. Reds, pinks, and greens tend to be brighter. Your intended use may make a difference too. I wouldn't recommend a neopixel for dueling, obviously. The base lit tier 2 and 3 have the same features, the only difference is the hilts. The tier 3 hilts will guarantee a nicer, larger hilt.
They have, but I don't use them for heavy dueling. They're blades are hard to beat for the price, and they have good customer service, and ship things in stock fast. I highly recommend CD.
What’s the difference between neopixle blades and normal and if mine came with a. Normal blade, can I still buy a neopixel ad it will fit? I just got my first blade, it’s the one with the holes in the emitter.
Unfortunately neopixel and regular blades aren't interchangeable. In hilt LEDs, like the ones that are in the base lit sabers from CD have a powerful, bright LED in the hilt that shines upward similar to a flashlight. The light travels up the blade and illuminates it. The blade usually has some type of film in it to get the light to reflect better down the entire blade tothe tip. Neopixel blades do not have a powerful LED in the hilt, instead there is a string of connected LED bulbs inside the blade itself. The sound board controls each led, which is why they scroll up and down and have blade effects like fire or raindrops.
In not really sure but I would think that from here on out they probably would. They shipped a TON of sabers in the last month. I imagine they've sold most of the old boards. The owner is very responsive on their Facebook page.
I have it on good authority that if you request smooth swing they will accommodate. Even if they did have some old boards left, you'd know you were getting a new board if you get smooth swing.
Question I have is on the baselit sabers, can you add custom soundfonts to them or are you stuck with what soudnfonts that they put on them? I know the neopixel sabers you can. I only ask because I tire of the same soundfonts on damn near every saber out there and would love to be able to swap to some soundfonts you don't hear very often. Kylo, Vader, Luke, Obi Wan, and the others are constantly overused.
You're stuck with the sound fonts on them. You can add/ change fonts and change blade profiles on the proffie core sabers. Presumably you'll be able to make changes on the new GHv3 cores but I haven't gotten one in hand yet.

You are correct. All of the CD sabers have had smooth swing for a while. I checked the website the other day and they have added a ton of sabers. I think that mostly depends on your budget. The base lit tier 2 and tier 3 sabers have the same features, the only difference is the hilt size and details. You can't really go wrong. Thanks for watching!

They are still shipping sabers even though the website is showing sold out. The owner answers directly on the Facebook page. I'm confident they can find a mystery box to ship in a reasonably quick time. That doesn't help with shipping prices to the UK though. The UK and AU need some more local saber retailers, looks like the demand is definitely there.
Yes all of the Crimson Dawn mystery boxes are compete hilts that come with a blade and electronics . They seem just as duel worthy as any other mass produced, mass marketed sabers that I know of. I'm not sure how they would hold up to expensive, specialty sabers made specifically for use in official dueling clubs or organizations. They seem to be very durable when compared to sabers that are similarly priced and/or to their intended market counterparts. I personally wouldn't hesitate to use them in dueling, they seem to have a very good durability to cost ratio. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching!
That largely depends on you. I think it's hard to go wrong with it. You're guaranteed to get something worth what you pay and in most cases you get something worth more, with a chance at getting something worth much more. Which tier depends on your budget. Both the base lit tier 2 and base lit tier 3 have the same features, the tier 3 is just a little nicer hilt. I think for $30 more, the base lit tier 3 is the sweet spot between value and esthetics. @@torresmarc816 Yes, there are tons of great saber companies. Curved aggressive sith hilt with neopixel to me says Saberforge Vanquish, Bane Mk 2, or the new Cyber Assasin but all of those will eat up your entire budget. The Vanquish is out of stock right now. If you are willing to solder you could order an empty and get the DIY Build kit to save money, but they're out of stock too. Crimson Dawn doesn't have any curved hilts, but you can certainly check all of the other boxes. They have the cheapest Proffie Neopixel sabers I know of. You could get a Shrike ot Osprey in proffie neopixel for $290 out the door and still afford to get a base lit tier 3 mystery box for your cousin and be under budget. You could get a matching Osprey or Shrike for your cousin, he gets LED and you get pixel but otherwise they would look alike. They'll run you about $150 and you'd still be $10 under your $450 budget. You could go to The Pach Store and get the Ultimate Works FST (Kit Kisto) with Asteria neopixel for $339, the UW RVS (Revan Sith) in proffie pixel for $369 then pick up a Crimson Dawn tier 2 saber from Crimson Dawn and be close to your budget. I own sabers from all of those companies and would recommend them from experience. There are also some great sabers from Darkwolf and Rebel Sabers ( they use LGT hilts same as Crimson Dawn so they will look very similar) that would fit into your price point for 2 sabers. I don't own those 2 personally but I know enough people that I trust that do and am comfortable recommending them. There are a lot more sabers out there that fit what you're looking for, but I don't think there are too many more that fit what you're looking for in both sabers in your price point. Continually, take a look at some of their Facebook posts. They will work hard to fill orders even when they are showing sold out on the website. You can message the owner directly. He will answer you back. If you order a mystery box they'll send you what is in stock. Ask about particular hilts. They have outstanding customer service!

Im thinking about buying the antares, but at the same time i want a staff, which antares is not. Really conflicted.
Why not both? CD has a coupler for connecting 2 sabers into a staff for $10. You could start with one Antares for now and get another when you get the money. You could ask on their Facebook page to make sure the couple will work with the Antares. I don't have an Antares or a CD staff yet. From all the sabers you’ve reviewed are these the best value for the money? From what I’ve seen ultra-sabers sound is a bit more clear that crimson dawns sound is. To me it sounds a little muffled not sure if its just me. Is it different in person? Im thinking about getting a saber from crimson dawn so I’m curious to see what you think.
I think Crimson Dawn is the best value. You get more for what you pay. They aren't perfect. LGT sabers could be louder, but I think the price and what you get outweighs the negative. I like the modular design and that the cores are interchangeable and easy to swap.
@@themeparkdna683 yeah I really like that idea so that you can make any hilt a neopixle saber! I also love that they are rechargeable and don’t require batteries like ultra-sabers which leads to the blade changing color. I have a dark apprentice v5 with the blue violet amethyst blade color and dark dorinian pommel and it runs through the batteries so quick and changes to a more fuchsia pink color because the blue LED fades first for some reason. I love the saber but its a little disappointing….

whats the difference in brightness with the neocore sabers and the base lit sabers, also whats the difference between tier 2 and three
The brightness difference is fairly significant, but that largely depends on which color. It's hard to quantify, but there is a significant difference. The brightness in colors can also vary greatly in brightness. Reds, pinks, and greens tend to be brighter. Your intended use may make a difference too. I wouldn't recommend a neopixel for dueling, obviously. The base lit tier 2 and 3 have the same features, the only difference is the hilts. The tier 3 hilts will guarantee a nicer, larger hilt.

They have, but I don't use them for heavy dueling. They're blades are hard to beat for the price, and they have good customer service, and ship things in stock fast. I highly recommend CD.

What’s the difference between neopixle blades and normal and if mine came with a. Normal blade, can I still buy a neopixel ad it will fit? I just got my first blade, it’s the one with the holes in the emitter.
Unfortunately neopixel and regular blades aren't interchangeable. In hilt LEDs, like the ones that are in the base lit sabers from CD have a powerful, bright LED in the hilt that shines upward similar to a flashlight. The light travels up the blade and illuminates it. The blade usually has some type of film in it to get the light to reflect better down the entire blade tothe tip. Neopixel blades do not have a powerful LED in the hilt, instead there is a string of connected LED bulbs inside the blade itself. The sound board controls each led, which is why they scroll up and down and have blade effects like fire or raindrops.

In not really sure but I would think that from here on out they probably would. They shipped a TON of sabers in the last month. I imagine they've sold most of the old boards. The owner is very responsive on their Facebook page.
I have it on good authority that if you request smooth swing they will accommodate. Even if they did have some old boards left, you'd know you were getting a new board if you get smooth swing.

Question I have is on the baselit sabers, can you add custom soundfonts to them or are you stuck with what soudnfonts that they put on them? I know the neopixel sabers you can.
I only ask because I tire of the same soundfonts on damn near every saber out there and would love to be able to swap to some soundfonts you don't hear very often. Kylo, Vader, Luke, Obi Wan, and the others are constantly overused.
You're stuck with the sound fonts on them. You can add/ change fonts and change blade profiles on the proffie core sabers. Presumably you'll be able to make changes on the new GHv3 cores but I haven't gotten one in hand yet.

You are correct. All of the CD sabers have had smooth swing for a while. I checked the website the other day and they have added a ton of sabers. Theme Park DNA. Thanks unfortunately they are sold out and also shipping was too expensive to the UK. Looking to get a cheap neopixel one but don’t know any reliable/cheap sources in the UK or US that do free shipping
They are still shipping sabers even though the website is showing sold out. The owner answers directly on the Facebook page. I'm confident they can find a mystery box to ship in a reasonably quick time. That doesn't help with shipping prices to the UK though. The UK and AU need some more local saber retailers, looks like the demand is definitely there.
I have 2 questions,
1: is the mystery box guaranteed to come with a full lightsaber?
2: is it durable and duel worthy?
Yes all of the Crimson Dawn mystery boxes are compete hilts that come with a blade and electronics . They seem just as duel worthy as any other mass produced, mass marketed sabers that I know of. I'm not sure how they would hold up to expensive, specialty sabers made specifically for use in official dueling clubs or organizations. They seem to be very durable when compared to sabers that are similarly priced and/or to their intended market counterparts. I personally wouldn't hesitate to use them in dueling, they seem to have a very good durability to cost ratio. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching!

That largely depends on you. I think it's hard to go wrong with it. You're guaranteed to get something worth what you pay and in most cases you get something worth more, with a chance at getting something worth much more. Which tier depends on your budget. Both the base lit tier 2 and base lit tier 3 have the same features, the tier 3 is just a little nicer hilt. I think for $30 more, the base lit tier 3 is the sweet spot between value and esthetics.
