How do you forgive when the person keeps doing the same things to you? How do I just shut down my feelings and emotions and not "feel" the pain and rejection that continues? I am trying so hard but my mind and my heart don't wanna get on the same page. Please pray for me.
After you forgive, ask the Lord to start His healing process in your life. Isa 61 says that He binds up our wounds. May the Lord start His healing in your life
May the Holy Spirit show you how to deal with your situation. Forgiving does not mean continually take it.
Keep going to our Father in prayer with your request. Also, prayer coupled with fasting may help. You can bind the spirit of Unforgiveness, hurt and pain and command them to leave.
Forgiveness is a decision and not a feeling so decide to forgive and ask God to get rid of the hurt and pain. God is able. I know your plight.

I have never been a member of any Church so I do not know about this particular doctrine but here is what the word of God says. Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38.
Also, in Acts 10:44-46, while Peter was preaching to the Gentiles the Holy Spirit came upon them and they spake in tongues.
No, they did not wait for 6 months or any specific period of time before they received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Similarly in Acts 19:5-6, they were baptized and then Paul laid his hands on them and they spake in tongues and prophesied too.
