Original souse is made from pig\cow feet or pig\cow face. With lots of wiri, wiri pepper cucumbers, onions, shallot & garlic. It's okay to eat when its hot but better tasting when its cold, after a few days, like pepper-pot. Chicken feet are added as a last resort of sorts. I left Guyana in my mid-teens over 50 years ago. Before most of those here on this channel were born. Now I'm 'ol like rass. Plaisance has changed a lot, I grew on Prince William Street. The market proper were where all the shopping were done. The line-top were when we had trains running there, not a lot of vendors sell this & that on it, now its been converted to a road. My recall is still intact, as I could reminisce some nostalgia but I won't want to bore anyone from those years of yore, lol
As a native Guyanese living in New York, its so much fun to see these videos. Being born in Georgetown, I’m seeing parts of Guyana I never saw before. Keep up the excellent content, I made sure to subscribe for more.
Thank you my brother for taking me back to a piece of my cherished significant past. I lived on Prince William St. south of the train line just before Panther cake shop. We were there for 3 years (57 - 60) the trains were still running then. I went to "Better Hope Canadian Mission school. Cheers and best of health to you and yours!
Guyanese hospitality at its best- a quick toops on a Sunday morning. I bet that dhal and rice taste sooo good! Thank you for always making me feel like I’m right there in Guyana 🇬🇾.
First time checking out your videos of our beautiful Guyana. All those fresh fish and shrimps, vegetables and fruits. I haven’t been to Plaisance area in donkey years. Great job👍🏽
Thanks so much for the tour it was a joy to see Prince William Street I Spent lovely time with family down there, enjoying your video here in London, the chicken foot souse that's my favourite.
Nice video Denny. Variety in the content of this vid.... makes it more interesting. Those were my old stomping grounds 40 yrs ago. That fisherman is a real good friend. Cheers to all of you.
From the age of 10 yrs old in GT, my mother preferred when I did her shopping in the market. She said my selections were better. To this day living on LI NY, I still do the food shopping, cooking and laundry. My wife is Jamaican and my kids prefer my cooking😂😂😂😂. The wife still cooks though.
king Tutankhamun nice. I’m happy that some of my fellow men are cooking and doing some of the things I do. And yes we men are great cooks. Check most of the restaurants where the wives like to take us they have male chefs.
My grand parents use to shop here when I was a kid. Good to know you were a mechanic, all car questions will sure to ask you 🙌 . Does Bubbles still live in Pleasance? Bubbles has a unique name, like it😊 I got to say, myself am camera shy. Lol. The Chicken Foot I am use to eating is the one made out of Chick Peas (Channa). I sometimes buy a bag and eat it out without mango sauce cause it's so good. The sun came out nicely after the rain. Lovin the clouds, beautiful for Photography. Thank you for the beautiful wknd tour😊 Keep showing the love. Bless. C.R. P.s..... how is the family doing on this day? Hi Fam 🙌
C. R. Yes bubbles still lives in there. I am still in contact with him I usually see him at his workplace. I was a welder / mechanic. I did many add jobs to make ends meet. I changed about 10 different jobs until I finally found the one I love and I’m working here since 2007 12 years now. So as a rolling stone I did gather some mass in the end lol.
What a nice video .I belongs to the same area . I love this market .most of it I love your souse .You should invite me and my family to have a taste .To guyanese you need to realize what's going on and learn to be yourself as a guyanese .whenever someone videoing you must learn to appreciate. And give a smile to the camera .don't behave like you is someone different than us.
The "Cheers" moment though. I didn't see Captain David so close up in the other video. He looks like a real "seaman", that is, a man who spends a lot of time out at sea.
Eh,do you know Edde Grant came from pleasant?i still remember living in kitty and visiting some black friend in plesance.used to be a cinema back in the days.(toronto)
Hi there, I really do appreciate your videos, good work, I have been living abroad for over 40 years. I remembered when I was 8 years old, my father used to work in the open air market
When you say love potion you sound like Robert Arrigton from deer meat for dinner be careful if your copying him he can strike to your channel if he has profe he's been saying that before you even came up with your channel
Christine Ortiz I Definitely learned a few things from him I watch all his videos he actually inspires me. But there is no law that governs mimicking someone at least not that I know of. When it comes to music that have copyright so I cannot use anyone songs to make money without their permission.
@@ITSOURLIFEARD He can't do yuh nothing. The Coasters got a song called "Love Portion Number Nine". An old song from the fifties I think. From my parents time. Look it up on utube. He didn't invent that phrase whoever he is. I never heard of him.
Hi Danny... love your videos and your humanitarian work....we have a lot in common... I'm from Lima Ebo and Huist Dieren... I have 2 business in Ottawa Canada.... love to make contact and invite you to Canada's capital city... let me know....
