After posting this review, it was brought to my attention that several Chinese brands make 3.4mm converters compatible with this pen. Here's a link to some. amzn.to/3MJdii0
I've got the M2 in caramel brown on its way. The finial graphic passed me by when I ordered it but, as a loud & proud cat dad, it is a much appreciate added bonus. I imagine, if it writes as well as most reviews suggest, the other colours will be making their way to me soon enough!
@@ForTheLoveOfPens I think hongdian catridges would work. It should be 3.4mm (the lamy hole sized ones, I think lanbitou also uses the same size if not mistaken) instead of the 2.6mm that jinhao/ bock uses. Can't be sure, probably need to measure it to be safe.
@@unknowncrash1 I just checked and you are correct, Hongdian cartridges appear to work with this model! I’m surprised, they appeared to be just international short cartridges, but the tips are a bit wider than the standard.
The longer section might make this that little bit more usable for me, compared to the Kaweco. Even though I much prefer the design language of the latter.
I have carried the olive one with Montverde Olivine for over a year. The only issue I have had was that I had to push the pin on top of the clip in once. It has been carried in an Amazon "EDC Pouch 6 Pockets Protector with Loop Waxed Canvas and Leather Pocket Organizer Mini Pouch for Men (Vintage Brown) "
@@tbayless8324 Bear in mind that pushing the pin back was minor and happened only once and understandable as it is always been dashed about in a huge loose pocket
Solid review, excellent visual presentation. I do like my Kaweco ALsport, but the M2's longer section is inviting. One question: does the converter hold more ink than Kaweco's?
Hello sir i got My pilot custom 74 medium nib yesterday,i filled it with pelikan brilliant black and when i begin to write it was smooth but down to upstrokes are scratchy and provide thin line and sometimes it skips during up strokes and moreover some times it stops working and i have to tap tap nib on paper so then ut writes ,nib and feed is properly fine no damaged, now what should I do and which ink did you suggest
@@asadjaved6633 I would check the nib under a loupe to make sure the tines are aligned and there are no burs/unpolished areas. I haven’t personally used pelikan inks but have heard they run on the dry side. I recommend Iroshizuku and Waterman inks, both have great flow. Also you may want to check with the seller you bought from, especially before tuning the nib.
I have a question maybe you could help. Yesterday I inked up my HongDian N2 for the first time. It leaked most of the ink out while laying flat in my desk, the rest leaked every time I moved it around. Burping I think is called. Very disappointing as it is a good looking pen.
@@santauxia I’m sorry to hear this, that sounds very frustrating and messy! I’d check that the converter is fully installed into the feed and there aren’t missing o-rings. Also check that the nib is fully seated on the feed. If everything seems in order, try reaching out to Hongdian. I messaged them about the M2 on Amazon and their customer support team was very helpful and responsive!
This is my alternative to the Kaweco sport because the pen is too small and the threads cut into my finger if you write with it for awhile. I wish they had Broad nibs on these.

Nice review! I like the attention to detail and background information about the cat 🐈⬛ emblem.
@@Mid-Century-Modern-Woman thank you! I’m curious if they’ll ever come out with a dog model too 😊
Returned my Kaweco Skyline and grabbed a matte black M2 today. Great review!

Unlike kaweco these pens come with converters 😁
@@unknowncrash1 it’s really a fantastic value! I just wish they also accepted cartridges

Great review. I got an M2 as an alternative to the Kaweco Sport (there are numerous reasons I don't like the Sport) and I really like it.

Really useful review. Thank you!
@@GordonTillmanTexas thanks!
Great review as usual. I own the orange and gold model, haven't ink it just yet.
@@santauxia thank you! I was tempted by that color, looks stunning in pictures
13:04 The converter reminds me of Sailor's converters for their Pro Gear Mini. Perhaps the Sailor cartridges can be used with the M2.
Ot does look that way, but the sailor tip is much wider.
@@ForTheLoveOfPens Thank you for checking.
You can use a full size 3.4 bore cartridge in lieu of the converter. You actually have a greater ink capacity.
You are right, I'll post an update. Thank you!

I've been impressed with this as well, with proper care it should be able to last for many years!
I wonder if some hot glue would help keep it in place, maybe try that. I have not had that issue.

Thank you! It does hold more ink than the Kaweco’s converter but is still significantly less than a standard international short cartridge.
Very nice pen. I do wish it had a #6 nib
It looks pretty balanced to me, but a #6 would be pretty cool!
