  • Head To Head test of six of my most popular TV Antenna designs. Which antenna design is best, and which is best for you?
    Antennas are dependent on many factors, such as broadcast frequency, terrestrial interference, time of day, time of year, etc. Your individual results may vary.

    I hope you will run with your idea of possibilities MHTI. Right now I am thinking of using your big double hoop antenna with two individual antennas mounted either side by side or one on top of the other. My reasoning is that since this antenna size is so reasonable in size I can make two units and make the picture rock solid reception. My double wisker channel Master two bay just keeps fading in and out these days. I was hoping you would come up something real killer to show us all on TH-cam Sir. Drop a line with your thoughts and any direction you think would work better.
    Please keep on making great videos for us to learn from MHTI. Good day and peace too. vf

      Stacking this antenna or mounting like a 4 bay (side by side) are both possibilities. I'm currently developing three more antennas for posting - I just have been tied up with other things. Hopefully I'll get back on schedule thus month! Thanks, VF.

    The double hoop reflector antenna looks like the best for me Mr. Hop To It. What blows me away is the garin of this antenna and the 130 degree viewing compass degrees. Do you think if I would make two antenna facing the same direction I could get station much further away distance wise ?? When I looked up deep fringe antennas the Gray-Hoverman double side by side antenna is what is needed to receive the signals. This does it with a single panel. This is just amazing MHTI. How did you get the idea for this style and type of antenna ?? Also, the simplicity of this unit is second to none. I have read a few times that mass of the element increases gain. Do you think that is true Sir ??
    This reminds me of when I was a young fella still wet behind the ears. My parents took a trip to the the American desert region Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico area. There were antennas that looked just like bed springs which were just huge. I would say 6 X 8 feet. They received signals well over 200 miles. But they were only a few stations for tem to get. The people in those areas were super glad they had them to watch. Thank you for bringing back such a great memory for me to MHTI.
    You seem to pull a rabbit out of the hat just like a magician. I hope you do not stop with your constructive juices !! I can only imagine what else you will be designing for us to learn from and enjoy Sir. Peace vf

      Hi VF, thanks for the kind words. Depending in your situation, linking two Double Hoops could be very effective. Just be careful that the connections between them are equal length. Adding element mass is effective but only up to a point. I never heard of the antenna style you mentioned seeing. I'd be interested in knowing more about them. Take care!

      The G-H antenna is something that cam from the 1950s. Some call them zig-zag antenna because of the active elements look like a few Zs placed side by side and right next to each other. This was supposedly the simplest and easy to ship antenna. They supposedly sold a ton of them. Channel Master 4228HD bowtie which is know for its durability and high gain. They sold a ton of them in the real world. This is what I found online. I look forward to see your next iteration of TV antenna MHTI. Good luck too. vf@@mrhoptoit7835

    Thanks for your content, Have you done a comparison using the double hoop, with and without the reflector?

    • @mrhoptoit7835
      @mrhoptoit7835  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I initially did. Without the reflector it performed well and was able to receive signals from "front" and "rear", but I did not get the really far stations. Im currently working on another antenna video, so keep an eye out for it - hopefully within the next week or two.

    Would the three diamond tenna stacked with TRI tenna on top or vica versa placement make for a super gain super small size unit.?? Thanks for making this video Mr. Hop To It. Job well done Sir with very good simple and great information presented. 😀😀😀

    I am wondering how the double hoop antenna would do against the Ultimate TV Antenna vs Gray Hoverman TV Antenna ??? Hope you have a Happy New Years Mr. Hop To It. Peace to you too. vf

    You show a channel list with sub channels, which leads me to think they are virtual channel numbers. RF channel numbers would be more useful. Which channels are VHF?

    • @mrhoptoit7835
      @mrhoptoit7835  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The only local VHF channel is RF channel 8, (virtual channel 11) . It is powerful and fairly close by, and all these antennas receive it. I'm not sure how well these would work on weaker VHF, or other VHF channels,as there's no way for me to test them. My antenna designs are UHF because that's what I have at my location. Thanks for watching.

      YOU are correct MHTI, This reminds me of seeing a presentation in person with Dr. Kevorkian, AKA, Dr. Death. The presentation at Kutztown University was so thorough that I decide to talk to the man himself. THIS human was the most interesting and intelligent human I have ever met. Shame he has passed away. But what he started spread all over the world. "Everyone has a right to die with dignity !!!"
      You might think this is crazy but he has to be the most compassionate human I have ever met, PERIOD !!@@mrhoptoit7835
