Nas is a rare breed. His lyrics are on another level and he has a unique delivery that makes you stop and listen. He's a teacher not a preacher.

This is one of the reasons Jay-Z was mad at Nas. Jay was hurt he could never match this type of skill.

    • @MichaelWilson-ht9gn
      @MichaelWilson-ht9gn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I love both but Jay is more versatile, has more flows, he’s punches more, he kills double, triple, and quadruple entendres. Nas is lyrical and more forward but Jay bars go over peoples heads

@@jeromesimz6271 nah bro Jay is considered a all time great lyricist he’s more versatile than a lot of guys he can make club music, conscious music, he was called the master of flows in the 90s for a reason he switches up a lot that’s what makes him great he can ride beats. Nas is a great lyrical rapper no doubt he got that in the bag but he isn’t as versatile I consider him a great lyricist but I consider Jay a great rapper/entertainer

After listening to this, it should be clear by now why JZ lost to Nas with that whole rap battle. J's subject matter isn't on Nas' level. Don't get it twist though. I have hella songs from J's catalog. With J, It's more like staying motivated to get that money. J is your everday emcee where Nas is that emcee that you get ever so often. I bet that if you took a poll on who got more love througout the five bouroughs... Jersey being the sixth ;] Nas would shine hands down. Don't front. Nas peaced it up for HH but deep in the streets J snaked Nas gettin' at his baby moms which was hella disrespect. Nas' bm played herself. Thanks for the upload!

      i happen to disagree.
remember when nas went commercial. during the nas-p shitty era? when people saw him as a change up? he went back to the original nas when he dropped stillmatic which is classic. afer nas dropped God's son making him three classics:
      1.illmatic
      2.stillmatic
      3. God's son
if given the 4th would it not be the lost tapes(but that's a compelation not a full album)
but not even too short bragging his 17 album count has 3 classic albums.

Evet, uh, uh, gerçek zenciler, duydun
    Evet, hayata yolculuk, sadece yolculuk
    [Birinci Kıta: Nas]
    Ben gürültülü olmayan zenciyim
    C-düşük at, asla as dışarı
    Mahallemi sinirlendiren sert kokain
Makineler, buzlu çan tokaları, on silah, buzlu bulmacalı M-1'ler getirin
Çünkü her davayı yakaladığımda, beni hapse atabilirdi
Hapisten korkmadıysanız, başarısız olma olasılığınız daha yüksektir
Bana satıldığım elden bütün dünyanın lanetlendiğini sanıyordum
Ve + En Kötü Düşmanım + kendimdi
Kendime söz ... kendime söz ... kendime söz ...
    [Kanca: Nas]

    Intro: Nas]
Yea, uh, uh, real niggas dawg, ya heard
Yea, journey to the life, just journey
    [Verse One: Nas]
I'm the nigga that ain't loud
    Throw C-low, never ace out
Only move out wit a particular crew, I hate crowds
The observer, money and murder the hood praise it
I was raised in it, early age
    Was presented with the ultimatum
Be a boss with a army, drop the Atari games
Hard cocaine that had my neighborhood strung out
    Brains numb out, guns out
I was smart high hopes in my heart
    But dope cartels would emerge
Bloody shirts on niggas while they hollerin'
    'Til their lungs don't work
Figures I end up with a scarred memory of my youth
With dudes in the drug loot, feelin' henny "SHOOT"
My nigga Will still here, man I wish it was truth
Buried in his favorite shit, FILA sneakers and FILA suit
My eyes are the window of my soul
My niggas let the Indo roll
Thinkin' time flies we gettin' old
That's the words of my right hand man, my main dawg
We been rollin since day one, he down for the cause
All he talk is extortion, kidnap shit, big gat shit
I'm like - "yo think positive", but he act sick
He only think about lettin' his Mac spit
He like fuck who he hit
Me it bothers, cause he know I'm rent 'em it regardless
If he keep wildin' out he's makin' both of us targets
So I pull him, tell him on some deep shit, try to school 'em
We already lost niggas by how we was movin'
We still livin', but our lives need much improvin'
I think I'm gonna lose 'em
    [Hook: Nas]
I was blind in this world
All I thought about was diamonds and pearls
I had beef wit a nigga, then I'm clappin' his girl
Nappin' his kids, ransack and run through his rib
Blow up his mom's crib, there's no way he could live
It's gettin' clearer, starin' at the man in the mirror
Like all this time, it's just a fragment of my mind
Come to find out, shit wasn't what is made to be
In reality +My Worst Enemy+ was me
    [Verse Two: Nas]
Feelin' like I got the dons clout
Trigger pawn cocked Glocks spray up your moms spot
I ain't playin' wit you, war, fuck pistols
Bring machines, icy bell buckles, ten guns, M-1'S with ice muzzles
Life's a struggle, get your wifey touch too, everybody involved
Homicide, doctors patchin' up your war scars
Task Force chargin' at us, news flash, thug crews blast at officers
Coroners pick you up from the grass
Livin' fast 'til somebody tries meltin' my chest
I'm high loosin' it, could of hit my own self with the tec
Refuse to quit, but I tried tellin' me to relax
It's like I can't hear my words 'til I'm trapped to the max
Even then I blame everybody else except me, pops left me
I was just three, I cried for help, moms was busy
    That don't mean nigga's stupid
But I got a habit wit - makin' up excuses
Was born ruthless, hated school, they ain't teach me I'm a bad seed
Planted in this ghetto, where my niggas can't read
Multiply, subtract; only knowin' how to count cracks and count stacks
Now what y'all know about that
One side of me wanted out of this life
Glue traps on the floor for the mice
'Til the nigga saw the light
I wanted money when I got it, I would spend it
I wanted jewels, but when I heard it, yo I wouldn't listen
All of the drama in my life I got my self into
All the toxins my body took in, faded my mental
I let these niggas words get to me
But I'm tired of my ice, tired of Bentley
It's the end of the century
I recognized the world is a beautiful place
Niggas opinions ruinin' my musical taste
Cause everytime I caught a case, could of got me in jail
If you wasn't scared of jail, you more likely to fail
I thought the whole world was cursed, from the hand I was dealt
And +My Worst Enemy+ was my self
Word to my self...word to my self...word to my self...
    [Hook: Nas]
I was blind to the world
All I thought about was diamonds and pearls
I had beef wit a nigga, then I'm clappin' his girl
Nappin' his kids, ransack, run through his rib
Blow up his mom's crib, there's no way he could live
It's gettin' clearer, starin' at the man in the mirror
Cause all this time, it was a fragment in my mind
Come to find out, shit wasn't what is made to be
In reality +My Worst Enemy+ was me

u right man, Pac was born a black panther and is the last generation of true black panthers, every other panther either died, was banished, or in prison by the time Pac came on the scene. even his aunt assata SHakur is banished and hiding some were in cuba, thats why people say Pac is still alive and he living in Cuba with his aunt.

It is obvious who the greatest artists in hip hop were and are. The people at the top of the list can be proven, but the number one cannot.
