On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago on 6-9-17.
We're looking at a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible in Mandalay Red Paint with the Factory upgrade Tri Power engine.
The car's Owner is George Hansen. George’s had this car since February 2017. The restoration on this car is stellar, and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor.
George remembers seeing an ad for this cars front grill in 1958 and that image made a positive impact on him. He hoped one day he could purchase one, and this year that happened.
Congratulations George on the purchase of a car you’ve hoped for!

That dashboard is the best I have ever seen on a vehicle of that Era! It is a Jetson spaceship! Incredible!!

59 Bonny convertible with what looked like to me, factory ac power windows and possible power drivers seat...absolutely amazing for 59 on cars other than Caddys...Just gorgeous...thanks Lou!

One of my favorite things about 50's cars is those tri-tone interiors. Works of art.

Gorgeous car. Look where we were then and where we're at today. All the cars today look like an egg with four wheels.

George has great taste in cars, 1959 is when they started "The Wide-Track Pontiac", love those wide cars.

"ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Car!!" I LOVE RARE cars!!! This is STUNNING!!! I think this car is "MUCH More EXCITING than a 59 Cadillac BY FAR!!! The styling looks BETTER than the 59 caddy!!!" to me!!

When my Uncle returned home after serving two tours in Korea, he pulls up in Marriana Arkansaw, in his uniform , and a black and white 1959 Pontiac Bonneville, Wow , I thought that he and that Pontiac, were the greatest two things in the world !

Love 59 Pontiac's. First year of both the 389 engine and the Wide Track stance. The 57-58 347/370 Tri Power Pontiac's are really cool too and so is the 57 Bonneville...Pontiac's first muscle car

Obviously built during an era when stylists called the shots. Difficult to believe GM were offering such a heady mix of glitzy ornamentation and rakish looks to the American buying public only one year after the McDonnel Douglas F-4 Phantom made its first flight. This car, for me at least, sums up the American motorists' relationship with their automobiles. The Tripower engine makes do with one carburetor during normal running, numbers two and three kicking in only when the throttle is opened wider. That's something I had to look up. Another great video from Mr. Costabile. Thank you, Sir !

This is one of the most beautiful automobiles ever made straight from the factory for sure. I love every detail.

Tell the owner how many people viewing this video are bedazzled by that car and are speechless. What a gem. He did not find the car, the car found him.

What an awesome Pontiac. With a Super Duty 389 Tri Power and factory air. People didn't get AC in convertibles back then. Pretty cool automobile. I have always had a great love for Pontiacs. Our family has owned a few over the years. 65 GTO , 67 Grand Prix, 2 77 Trans Am one being a Y82 special edition, a 79 Bonneville 4 dr sedan, 80 Sunbird Hatchback. Like George I love Pontiacs still but now I own and drive Corvettes. I really miss my Y82 special edition.

This is a real beauty. As far as 1959 GM cars go, I rank it right behind the Buick Electra 225 convertible by a hair. In my world, that's pretty darned good.

This car looks wonderful and also truly elegant, with no tons of chrome as it was usual that time. Red with the white roof is perfect! Simply great in comparison to our dark, sad and barbaric SUVs !! No more elegance nowadays also in people's clothes and behaviour: after the 68' things went downhill

What can I say…….it’s a piece of art 👍I’m usually stuck with the Pontiacs with the Coke bottle shape but this one is gorgeous👍I just love it and the engine sound? Sounds like summer to me😎😎😎
