Ace Beaute does the best color stories. Such an interesting selection of earthy, mossy greens & browns combined with some tropical hits of saturated color. Soooo nice. Love those types of shades 💚🤎💛
Matte-heavy (or just pure matte) palettes are my favourites, definitely. 👍🏻👍🏻 But that's mostly because I want to play with my "special" indie singles, all of the time. 😅 I buy palettes for the mattes, 99% of the time. Also because most shimmers in palettes aren't spectacularly impressive. There are DEF some exceptions (BH, Glamlite, Oden's Eye, Give Me Glow). I'm so excited that Ace Beaute has reformulated. I was always kind of apprehensive about hearing of and seeing Ace Beaute releases, because they did have gorgeous colour stories, but I knew I didn't like their formulas. 😕 I'm so glad that's changed! So hyped to see what they release, in the future, now. 😍
I got mine yesterday and wore it out last night it is perfection. Its the green side of the Bperfect Antidote palette which is all I wanted of that one and am so glad to get it in a smaller format from another brand I LOVE!

My ONLY minor complaint with this one is that there wasn’t a true midtone olivey green shimmer in it, but I am obsessed with the way you paired the ‘chartreusey’ green matte with the other grungey greens that I’m fine with it! Again, thank you for an excellent review and above all: the swatches! I so appreciate you always verbally elaborating on the shades and taking your time going through them. It really is priceless. Plus the closeups, and focus being on point -- too often not the case elsewhere. I wish you'd done a comparison swatch w/ Alamar's El Malecon though, as I have that. Pickle looks like a darker version of Palm Tree, more or less. Jungle & Olive are also, as you say, similar. Mango & Chartreuse again are very alike (and not any fave type color of mine). Also that last one, seems like every palette included it lately (it'sBel, BeautyBay ...). SO tired of that, it's enough w/ 1 and I have 2 or 3 already. And a metallic liner in the same tone! Last but not least, that you pretty much always show which shade you use before applying it is also great. It's in the details, really! All in all, I too love this type tones, and really wanted to be allover the palette, but feel too many shades are too similar to each other for me to get this, esp as I already have a quite large collection. They were a bit lazy in picking which shades got to be included IMHO, and could have done a better job choosing which shimmers to include f ex, as well as having the mattes' range be wider. Yes Cave is deep dark aubergine, not black. Totally correct. Quite unique, I'd say. As for Khaki, it's a reference to the fruit (aka persimmon; I believe more often spelled kaki), so the color actually IS accurate. Oahu was pronounced right, it's an island in Hawaii, and the Seychelles are simply another archipelago (group) of islands -- pronounced Sayshells. If interested.;) Looking fwd to the 3 looks 1 palette vid either way though. Inspo is never wrong, if achieved.
I don’t have Boxycharm anymore, but this could pop up in a future Boxycharm or in add ons one of these days based on past experiences. Just FYI in case anyone has Boxycharm and may want to wait on it. Also sometimes they let former subscribers shop the drop shop a few days after it opens so if you were subscribed in the past you may still be able to get it that way for a cheaper price if it ever goes to drop shop. I’m going to see if it ever goes there myself. The color story is so beautiful. I think ace Beaute does the best color stories of any brand in my opinion. I also like how the owner is humble enough to take constructive feedback and used it to improve her formula. I got some of her older palettes via Boxycharm and although I struggled at first, I learned how to work with the formula so I’m not repurchasing anything in the updated formula.

I'm getting my palette delivered on Friday. The only color that's throwing me off is cheycheles, not sure what to do with that and rest of colors in palette. I can't wait until it arrives
I would have traded a few of the olive mattes for olive shimmers. You'd think that they'd include at least one shade like that. As it is it's too matte heavy for me , and I don't typically like all matte looks. I'll prolly wait and see if it goes on sale on BF, and if I can pair it with some singles from other brands.

This palette is so beautiful, but I really feel like there’s only so much you can do with it, I don’t think I need 4-5 variations of the same colour, almost as if it wasn’t designed as being an eyeshadow palette where colours blend together. The two chartreuse are very similar too in my opinion. I think I wished there were more other colours to vary the looks and maybe more metallic shades? I would be curious to hear your thoughts (or someone else’s who has the palette) on the actual versatility of this palette because I cannot help but see only 6-7 different colours overall, but maybe in reality the colours are different enough to create really distinctive eye looks?
You pronounced O'ahu correctly, Amy! It's the name of one of the Hawaiian islands (the main island) but it's missing the glottal stop/backwards apostrophe (in Hawaiian it's called an 'okina). I'm from O'ahu and that's where Honolulu is located. 😊

I know this is heavy un mattes, but i kind of see the martini palette from glamlite as a posible comparison.
