Indrahar Pass Trek solo without guide | ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਹਰ ਪਾਸ ਟਰੈੱਕ via Triund, Snowline and Ilaka.

- I attempted the Indrahar pass, which is at the height of 4,360 meters, solo and without any guide. I started the trek on 24th May, 2024 from Gallu at around 8:50AM and trekked to Triund in 3 hours and 40 mins. After taking rest and spending some time at the beautiful Triund site for an hour, I started my trek further towards snowline cafe which took me two hours. After a quick break at snowline, I went further to Ilaka where I had planned to stay for the night at Dhauladhar cafe.
I reached Dhauladhar cafe at Ilaka around 4:30pm with last 30 mins of trek in heavy rainfall and hailstorms. After reaching there, I had tea and some snacks. The rain stopped after a while and revealed the beauty of the mighty Dhauladhar ranges in the backdrop. I changed into my night clothes in the camping tent and waited for dinner. At around 7pm, heavy rainfall and lightning started and within 10 mins, the tent had water seeping in. Other trekkers who were staying in tents there had same issue. In a few mins, everyone decided to abandon the tents and took shelter in the dhaba (cafe) structure. The rain kept on for a few hours due to which more than 15 people crammed up to sleep in the dhaba itself. Needless to say, I didn't have a good sleep which impacted my plans for the indrahar pass suummit the next day.
Next morning I woke up at 4AM for the pass summit push but had a heavy headache and I decided to take rest. I eventually left for the pass around 9Am and decided to go as far as I physically can. I managed to go near the lahesh cave (3450 metres) and then decided to return back. I then trekked all the way back to Mcleodganj the same day.
Although I couldn't reach the top of the pass, it was still a great experience and I felt accomplished to have reached the point all by myself. I returned with a resolve to reach the summit next time with full preparation.

Thank you bro. Yes water sources are there above Triund, both paid and natural. You can buy bottled water from Snowline cafe or after that from Dhauladhar cafe at Ilaka. At ilaka there is also a pipeline that they have installed that brings spring water down from glaciers. For this you will have to go down a few steps on the right side of the trail near Dhauladhar cafe. Almost 1-2 km after ilaka, there is a proper stream crossing as well. So, in short, enough water sources are available.
Brother water source is available in ground but at higher price compared to dhramsala

Mai taan hmesha guide ton bina hee trek kitey ne. Waise Ilaka, dhauladhar cafe takk taan guide di koi lod ni hai. Triund ton snowline takk kaafi steep chadhayi aa, os ton baad easy aa ilaka takk. One day to go up, one day to come down is easily doable. Just one suggestion, start early morning, by 7am from Gallu, dont be late. Nahi taan hanera ho sakda shaam nu paunche paunchde.

Paji guide nal jana assi sunday nu ah wale te sanu tent food diya facilities mil rhiya ne which per hor sanu ki ki carry krna chaida bag ch nal apne 4 din 3 raata da trek rhuga apna eh stay krde jana
Eh cheeja carry definitely karo:
- Raincoat/poncho
- Trekking pole ya stick
- sunglasses
- headlamp ya torch
- bag da rain cover
- Water bottle
- snacks (chocolate, peanuts, gudd etc)
- 1 set of clean clothes to sleep every night (tshirt, pjama, socks, warm cap)
- proper jacket to wear at camp after trekking
- trekking karde time wear a full sleeve tshirt to save from sunburn
- toilet stuff (soap, toilet paper, wet wipes wgera)
- power bank
- baki try to keep your bag light, kapde jinne zaroori hon, oney hi carry karo
