    Nice effort man ! Taking on a race is no joke , its a whole new level of riding , constantly pushing at the redline ! I did it once & like you , when it was over you whipped like you never felt before ! Race level is a whole different commitment & suffering ! Anyway , you had the balls to take it on , Good Job. !

      Thank you for checking it out, I couldn't sit down properly without a back pain and leg pain. Feeling better today but that race got me the most sore I've ever been

      Depends on how seriously you take it. I’ve ridden many marathons but don’t gas it the whole time, I also enjoy the views.

    Props! I've done plenty of Enduro and DH racing, longer gravel rides etc but this year did my first 'traditional' style XC lap race. The advice given to me was - "Pace yourself, by going off the start line at 100%.... and then just maintain that till you throw up or black out". Its Brutal. Too long to sprint. Too short to have anywhere to let off the gas a little and hide in the pack or recover.
    Well done!

      Thank you, I started strong but at the End of lap 3 I had to use the restroom and re-fuel with nutrientes and lap 4 the cramps started. If I didnt stop and didnt have the cramps I could have finished at least 20 minutes earlier.

    Great video Dropper! You are brave enough just to participate in this big race. Sorry for the inconvenience you had. Now you know what to do next time if you decide to be in a race again. ❤ I heard my name and I was whao first place and I wasn't even there hahaha. Plenty of electrolytes before you start another race. And train harder for the next one, you got this!

    • @topspot4834

      Hard to prepare for your first race. You don't realize how out of shape you really are ... I don't do XC, just enduro and DH so take it for what it's worth, but my biggest gains come when I'm off the bike. Lighter weights, a lot of reps for the weight training, run 5-7 miles 3x a week, and MOST importantly (especially as you get older) is flexibility training. Combine that with a clean diet and a ton of water, that'll make you a much better rider.
      And just like high school, big pasta dinner the night before and a lot of orange slices on race day. Drink a ton of water BEFORE the race begins!

    That’s a heck of a first race! I started biking in 2021 and did my first race in 2022. After much practice (and a 27 lb bike with race tires), it was a great season, including yesterdays awesome race. You will slay it in Cat 3 next year with a performance like this!

    • @allenkvextreme

    Nice job hanging in there. You’re not in ride shape. Ride more miles even if you have to get on the road with a road bike and do more hard miles with a lot of climbing. Those little short loops you do will not cut it in a mtb race or any race. Endurance is what you need. Your bike weighs 31 pounds. It’s not your bike, it’s you. You just need to get stronger and hydrate better but at least you got out there and did your best.

    • @allenkvextreme
      @allenkvextreme  ปีที่แล้ว
