I just did a full day tour with Wet Planet and it was all fun, no carnage. This video shows the value of a guide who can steer through the rapids and keep everyone in the boat. It's not easy, and there's some luck involved with the river and the tourists. Our tour had class 4 waterfalls and it didn't seem dangerous. The guide knew how to run it smoothly, and we just had to paddle the way he called out. It's a beautiful river and a great way to see it.
great footage. we got out just before the falls. we did it a few years ago and i believe there was a tree across or something.. glad we didn't do that.
We locals used to do this river with nothing more than our arms wrapped around a truck tire inter-tube wearing cutoffs back in the early '70s. No life jackets, helmets. But our legs were numb from the cold by the time we got to Northwestern Lake campground...we were fearless! This is city kids stuff.
Kinda funny to watch the peoples hands as they go over, see which of them grab on to a running line or the boat itself. Then compare that to who manages to stay in the boat.
I always tell my crews specifically not to grab onto the outside perimeter line. If the boat tips, someone holding onto the line can actually cause the boat to flip. I'd rather have a swimmer or two than the entire boat go upside down.

I've been over a class 4, but not a class 5 like this one. Excellent footage and the tune is perfect! Thank you!

Nice job catching my first mini carnage run, but what's up with the magic nudity leaf on my flip run?

husum is definitely not what it used to be... used to run that river a decade a go and it was portaged almost every time unless you were a kayaker.
That ones got some hold down time.
Daniel Thornton I’ve seen a few people just about die, it can be fuckin gnarly if you get it bad
Don’t like the washing machine rapids.
