    ***UPDATE DISCLAIMER:
    The "Double Hit" rule in the latest rule book was revised. The word "unintentional" has been removed.
    Now it reads as follows:
    11.A. Double Hits. Balls can be hit twice, but this must occur during a CONTINUOUS, SINGLE-DIRECTION stroke by one player. If the stroke made while performing the serve or during a rally is not continuous, or not in a single direction, or the ball is struck by a second player, it is a fault.

    Nicely done! I am going to send this to several beginners. The only error I saw was at timestamp 3:56. The word "unintentional" has been removed in the latest rule book in 11.A.

      @@user-ux1ss3fm8c Thank you!) When the video was produced the word “unintentional” was still there. Its a nuance, and in general the rule stands because of the “single, continuous direction” phrase. But I will add a disclaimer in the description, so thank you!

    One note - the double hit rule is changed to exclude the "unintentional" caveat. It now only references the single motion caveat. (EDIT: I see it was asked and answered already in the comments) Also, you should explicitly include the serve rule that a ball striking the NVZ (including the NVZ line) is considered a fault. Those are nits, otherwise, great video.

      Thank you for your comment! The note about the Double hit rule wording change is in the description as a disclaimer, since this change was introduced after the video was produced. Regarding the serve ball striking the NVZ line - it is clearly stated and shown where the serve must land to count as successful. Also, earlier in the video, it is mentioned that the lines of the kitchen are part of the kitchen. However, I understand your point - for those who can not for some reason make a logical conclusion, additional warning would be probably helpful. At this stage however this kind of change in the video is not feasible and I only can hope that most of the viewers will understand that if the serve should not land in kitchen and if the line of the kitchen is a part of the kitchen then hitting that line is a fault.

    what happens if you continue play on a ball that was high and headed out of bounds.. can the play continue?

    • @SpinCityPickleball
      @SpinCityPickleball  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you return the ball that was going out into the opponents’ court - the play continues.

      As long as you aren’t in the kitchen when you volley the ball you can do it from anywhere and the play goes on.

    If they serve on the kitchen line, is it out?
    If they serve net in ?

    • @SpinCityPickleball
      @SpinCityPickleball  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the serve hits the kitchen line - its out!
      If the serve clips the net - and lands anywhere in the serving area or any of its lines with exception of kitchen line - the the serve is good.
