    Is there a video on how to make the silicone molds?
    These are fabulous. Thanks for sharing.

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I have a video for silicone mould making but it isn’t specifically for the lamp shade. I made a template of one side out of foam board, sealed the edges with tape and then made the mould of it using the method in my mould tutorial. I hope that helps, here is the link. th-cam.com/video/cYGVSJXfChY/w-d-xo.html

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you very much. We have two cats and a very active dog and the lamps are still in one piece. The beauty of resin is it’s strength, it looks like glass but won’t shatter like glass so it’s win win! :) have a go :)

    Hi Louise Wow! ....Fabulous! such a beautiful resin tutorial I thank you so very much as I’ve been wanting to create lampshade panels from resin but had no idea how to go about it whereas now I do however I’m hoping you could do a tutorial showing you making the moulds for the panels as I clicked onto you’re video for Mold making thinking it was showing how you made the panels for the actual lampshade I became a little confused to how I was meant to achieve this without you’re actual video direction ... please could you do a tutorial showing the process of making the lamp shade panels start to finish .. waiting hopefully you’re fan silverfern

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sonya. Thank you for watching. Unfortunately I won’t be able to do a video but I can explain it quite easily. The reason I linked to my mould making tutorial is because the basic process is exactly the same. You just draw the shape of your lamp shade panel onto mount board (cardboard as thick as you want your resin panel to be) and cut it out then place it firmly down onto some sticky backed plastic. Make a barrier around the edge and pour the silicone in (like in the video.)
      Does that help? Feel free to ask any more questions x

    • @sonyasmith666
      @sonyasmith666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Louise Singleton Creations Thank you so much for replying that’s awesome and yes you have explained it to me quite clearly now haha 😆 I guess I’ve made it quite hard on myself because my table lamp is an 1920’ antique metal framed with scroll and leaf motifs ( 1920’s) which has a beautiful Czech glass Bohemian finial I’m wanting to add a hand beaded fringe attached to the inner lamp frame and lamp pull chain designing the resin panels around a hand painted peacock motif ( center front and back panels) the side panels ombré, jewel tones of raspberry and amber into green and blue tones.. the actual resin art on the panels are not of concern it’s the lamp that is shaped like a pumpkin! It curves under the frame so wish me luck !!!! any tips on how I can achieve the curved resin panel moulds? Same method as you have just explained hopefully thank you once again for you’re help and for you’re fabulous tutorials they are brilliant!!!!

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sonya Smith wow! Your lamp is going to be amazing! It sounds like you have it planned perfectly. Yes for the curved parts, if it is possible to drape it over the place where it needs to fit whilst it is still at the bendy stage that might work. I’d love to see the finished result.

    • @sonyasmith666
      @sonyasmith666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Louise for sure I will post the finished product to you as I have you to thank for showing me that it indeed is possible to make resin panels to fit a lamp frame 💗 I am awaiting my lamp shade and Lamp base to be shipped from America to Australia ( where I live) which could be another 6 weeks due to the delay in shipping during this precarious time the world finds itself presently in, I will also be hand painting the lamp base so have a lot to do but so excited to see the final result! Sooooo Watch this space! 😁 as I will be watching you’re tutorials for further inspiration 👏🏻 oh
      In the meantime here’s one of my projects hope you like it x th-cam.com/video/2bOFagE6Me8/w-d-xo.html

    Beautiful!! It's really inspiring...
    One quick query... Is it necessary to seal the dry flowers with some spray varnish Or Mod Podge before using these for Resin projects?

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. No, I would say it isn’t essential I just find it helps keep the buds in place. Maybe experiment with it both ways first. I hope that helps you. Thank you for your question.

    Can you make round lampshades like this?

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would be possible. You would need a long rectangular piece and wrap it around the frame whilst still flexible. I always intended to have a try but never got around to it. You may have just prompted me!

  • @debbiedewey4150
    @debbiedewey4150 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your lampshades...beautiful...Jules Madison pointed me in your direction as I want to make a lampshade but I want it to look beachy and wavy much like the sculptures she created just turned upside down...my worry was what type of resin would work best as the top would be closed off much like a vase turned upside down ...I definitely don’t want it to catch fire or start drooping from the trapped heat from the light bulb...from your video you stated LED don’t produce much heat which is a bonus...if I make the base (now the top) thick enough to support the light hardware I could drill additional holes to allow any heat to escape...I am still in the thinking process but would greatly appreciate any suggestions/comments you might have..if you provide me with an email I could sketch you out my hair brained idea lol...thanks in advance for any advice you may have...debbie in Canada

    • @LouiseSingletonCreations
      @LouiseSingletonCreations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thank you for contacting me, (Jules is lovely). Your idea sounds great! I would love to see it when you’ve finished it. I think it would be fine with an LED bulb but adding a few holes might be a good idea. I would suggest using a resin with a high heat tolerance just in case - I use Ultracast XT for such things. I had exactly the same concern as you and I did keep going back to check on it the first time it was used. I kept my lampshades and they are used daily, there has been no sagging or distortion. I hope I helped in some way xxx
