I'm restoring one of these ish. My buddys dad gave me one of these ish. It's a 1989 rmx with a 1988 rm250 engine. I'm restoring it right now, every piece of the bike :).
Even as a crazy Suzuki fan I would say the 86 Honda was the best 250. Full floater was in name only as the linkage disappeared after the 85 model. Nice bike though!
Hell ya i raced a 87 rm 125 loved it also had the 88 rm 250 someone gave me it was a beast also gotva 77 rm 250 in a box for free put it together it hauled ass
I have the 87 model of the rm250 still to be restored had it since I was a kid lol raced the 85 250 rm I eventually went to kawasaki kx250 1990 and loved that bike had 3 o them stil got one well alot of bits to build anther one good to see the 88 which looks like my 87 but you say there is difrances 👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Nice old rm 250.. Once warm give it good reving up road flat out every gear in next vid so we can hear true sound of 88 rm 250....... Take look at new gasgas 250 mc aswell and see what that's doing to 450 guys 😁 👍👍
87 was essentially the same bike, 2 less clutch discs and slightly different porting. pipe, tank and rad locations are different but they make literally 0 difference I've ridden both.
Bike aint even warm.. You have no clue WHAT the jetting is. Wait til it's warm and you've seen and heard him do some proper pulls. He does however have far to much oil in his juice !

But the new bikes are soooo much faster and better handling nothing can compare to a modern 450 that’s tuned up they are redicilous everyone thinks the 500 is an animal which it is respectively but a new tuned up 450 smokes the 500 all day
It’s not always about what is the absolute fastest thing for everybody, at least to intelligent people. It’s about the sound, the experience, the character, the unique powerband of the vehicle.
i picked up an 84 rm250 the first week i got it a friend of mine picked up some yamaha 600 sportbike he was all telling me how the bike is an absolute monster blah blah blah we lined it up i whooped his ass to about 45 mph then he passed at like 60 absolute puss of a 600
Mate how much does tuned 450 cost stupid money conpared to 2 stroke some people want value for money 2 strokes offer that and there harder to ride fast and make you better rider anyone can ride 250f and 450f there like having traction control conpared to 2 stroke there boring and sound shit lol alot of people don't want cost of fucked 4 stroke engine when it needs repairs Watch videos of 2006 rm 250 vs new Crf250f and 450 f... The rm 250 was 2 seconds slower than new 2022 crf 450 the rm 250 2 stroke was near 2 seconds faster than 2022 crf250 aswell.. The guys riding rm 250 don't ride 2 strokes all time either.. so someone who only rides 2 strokes all time would of been faster.. Put new yz 250 with new yz 500 conversion in with 450 and see what will happen lol lol but they won't let you do that it's OK for 4 strokes to cheat but they won't let you run newer af 500 in same class with 450 will they cos they know they will lose... 20 years on 2 3 seconds faster than old 2 strokes is nothing and alot of 2 Stroke riders can still smoke 450s..👍

It’s a cool old bike but claiming this bike has 50hp is complete and utter horse manure.
I have an 87 and came to say the same. It's more like 40 but the bottom end torque is just better than 125s that still make 36-40
yeah i have a highly modified 91 RM250 which has a way better powervalve and they claim stock that it has 54hp stock😂

Ok then. I smoked my pals crf450 on my 2018 yz250x. 4ts are faster on track because they are easier to get on the throttle.ask Ken sr or jr
