Beans will release his video (the second half) in a few days/a week so look forward to that! Apologies about this being less edited than some of my other videos I'm currently rather busy with placement 🙂
The second half being the best twists on Australian Survivor? Given how much was covered here and how much you both hate most twists I expect that video to be very short lol.
I really wish AU would have an Edge of Extinction style battle back at merge. Dedicate an entire episode to it, fills two non-eliminations worth of time (the amount of NE they need if there's no medevacs).
@@JoshuaFelix17 edge of extinction really is the perfect twist for AU Survivor and I'm surprised they haven't done it yet. That way you can fill all 24 episodes with eliminations.
I find edge of extinction/redemption island a lot more palatable as a solely premerge mechanic. So yeah for Australian survivor I’d be way way better than the “tonight things will be different” bs
The BvW Putgatory twist genuinely ruined that season beyond repair. It wasnt great before that, but having like 4 straight episodes mean absolutely nothing is ridiculous. And once the players realized there was no point in flipping, no one made a move.
To defend Hayley a bit(a LOT actually), Hayley and Chris are very different in the sense of timing of their vote-offs, how much time elapsed before they returned, and how much game they had left to play upon return. Chris was voted out on Night 8 or 9, it doesn't matter- third boot, If Hayley didn't have redemption rock to go to, she'd be the 10th placer/2nd juror which is already good. Chris spent 26 days on the edge before returning at the very tip of endgame, turning a final 5 into final 6...that's a big leap from final 16 to final 6. Hayley only spent about 24 hours on redemption rock before returning, and absorbed herself back into final 10...as if she never left in the first place. Next is the game left to play and let's just say it's quite obvious who had a more impressive stretch here...Chris U only having to survive 1 vulnerable round (I recall he won final 6 challenge?), and he chose to make fire against Rick- that's 3 game rounds that he needed to get right. Hayley had to get from final 10 to final 2, and she did so by winning 4 individual challenges, an impressive 2-1-1 vote against George's closest ally in Cara, and an overall impressive strategic run alongside the greatest villain of Survivor AU. As a last point- Support from the jury- Best case, Hayley had Baden but I believe she had to earn his respect from the final seat as much as George did because they both played stellar games in their own right. Chris lived up to as much as 26 days on the edge with the jury that would coach and give him instructions on how he can win their votes at the end- that is a long time to be spending with the peers that will ultimately decide your fate against 2 finalists that never had that opportunity because hey played the full game of 39 days within the game setting, and only saw the jury when they attended tribal council or at the return challenges. I still do think Chris deserved his win given he did more in the last 5-6 days over 2 followers of Ron's Kama alliance but to compare him to Hayley and say they are on equal ground is a disservice to Hayley's game in the grand scheme of things.
Plus the bad twist from the round before where only one person voted meant she essentially had to burn her game to make it past a heavily unfair round where she was at risk of instantly being eliminated. If anyone thinks that and Chris blowing up his game unprovoked are Just As Bad, they are biased. There is literally no other way to say it
@@ashen_roses , very much that! People have to be more nuanced when comparing the 2 because saying, "They're the same" because they both got voted out and won is shallow and doesn't get to the root of their games separately and what makes one better than the other.
Rewarding the team who lost the immunity challenge and punishing the team who won it must be the worst twist. (When they sent Kelli to the other tribe.)
For me the pick your team twist was the worst. No other twist is more impactful then guaranteed safety for a large group for a decent stretch of the game
Twists like Purgatury and Build Your Tribe that lead to boring tv and stagnant gameplay are far worse than twists like the sole vote twist that shake up the game for a round and give underdogs a chance to flip the game imo. Yes the latter is more "game-breaking" but it creates far better tv.
Personally I think I would have ranked those lower but Beans and I did an au twist ranking in a 12 person discord group so some twists that I found meh were booted a little too soon.
Australian Survivor kinda screws with a lot of principles of the game that makes it kinda hard for me to really connect with winners or the underdogs, a lot of them feel like production stepping in with stuff like exile in All Stars, Purgatory and then the advantage to save 3 people from tribal I don’t look at a twist in TvR where only 3 people are allowed to vote and cheer for the underdogs, the game literally took 6 votes away to achieve it, it’s not satisfying to watch poorly edited players get screwed over. Would Liz have even won the game if the season was a final 2?
The twists have gotten better however they still make unnecessary twists like the Charles boot in TvR I believe they should only add twists on the episodes that they are forced to make a non-elimination otherwise its ruining the fun and screwing players unnecessarily
The cookies vs firewood didn’t make sense. Tarzan wanted to take the cookies for his tribe but then said “no I can’t do that because I have to eat them in secret”. The message said you either take the firewood for the tribe or take the cookies in secret. Jericho however shared the cookies with multiple people - Luke, Henry and Sarah at different times. How was that allowed? Also Jericho joked and ate a cookie when everyone had their back turned - if he was caught, was that a penalty because the message said “in secret”? Why was Tarzan not allowed to take the cookies and share them amongst everyone, or at least most people?

@@bencalebrodWe split it half and half 😊 so his will be roughly 20 minutes also starting with the meh twist and going into the actively good ones

The editing would get so much worse with EOE 😭

Love Survivor Aus but production tampering is constant and hard to ignore

I Love Bandit, I love Beans and I love Survivor and Survivor AU so I am happy

Think we just gotta accept thr twists and pray for good outcomes
Australian Survivor allways have good players and characters, but they lean too heavy on twists
Pretty much every Survivor Au twist ever
So my takeaway from this vid is every twist ever done is bad
This is only one half 🙂
Alternate title: All of the reasons why Australian Survivor is incredibly overrated
