- This time I took the 80's pop classic 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' by Simple Minds and translated it into Type O Negative style by slowing it down, adding a lot of TON sound elements and bass/baritone vocals with a few higher parts.
This version is also extended from 4 minutes up to 10!

I've been trying to do something like this with QOTSA doing a Type O Negative song. It's not easy to make it sound as if QOTSA wrote it themselves. My hats off to Denis.

Absolutely... They're a particularly hard band to find another band that could 'scratch a similar itch' but this is as close as it gets! Plus it's not just TON covers so each new cover song Denis does feels like a brand new lost discovery in the TON catalogue :) Big thanks

@@barrybates433 Oh yes, another legendary band right there. I'm not as into them as Type O but still love their music. Pete's goth voice was definitely influenced by Andrew's low singing style
TON was the first concert I ever went to in 1998, they played with Coal Chamber and the Misfits.
Somehow this feels like a message that Peter would have left behind for us fans. Thank you. You really made not only Peter justice but the whole bands essence.

This is so incredibly good. Nobody did better covers than Type O because of how they made them their own. This is just as good as what they did with Summer Breeze.

Do Peter Murphy's "Cuts you up" in the style of Type O. I know it's not a famous song, but on Type O's forum in the early 2000s there was a thread about what cover songs they should do, and someone suggested that song. I could totally see them having done it, and that suggestion made me discover Peter Murphy.
Fun detail: I have played his song "Strange kind of love" for many people, and I think every single person has liked it, and most people then started listening to it at home :-).

Type O has remained one of my top 3 favorite bands since their release of Slow Deep and Hard... What you've done the last few months has taken it to a whole new level that even some of the remaining members have gone on to appreciate and comment about... I think Peter would be proud..
