She is amazing! And here I am in my big giant American bed to lazy to get up to get my clothes out the drier to fold them. I’m not lazy but some days I can be but look at what she has to do. She has no choice and she work hard! We take life for granted over here. When I was pregnant with my first daughter I lived in Central America so I had no choice and all that you are doing Miss Dosha I did too. Washed my clothes the same way even showered in the river and the rest room was outside. Have a great week friend!

please do not be hard on yourself. I live in the city now but I was raised in a rural area. I brought those skills with me to the city and now people copy my ways and I save so much money. this lovely hard working woman is saving so much for her family too. when we know better we do better. each and every day is a new day to start and money saving trick. that is how I look at it. it is like a childhood game that is not electrified. lol.👍

yes, you can always recycle ashes from your own fire to wash clothes. in America we have a long history of making natural soap with animal fat and lye (ashes) it is very economical and wonderful for your skin. This is called, 'lye soap.'

Ash/charcoal draws impurities to itself and holds it until it's washed away.
I have a washing machine and dryer now. It does the work for me. My mom taught me how they washed their clothes in tub with a wash board when she was young. It's wonderful to see how other cultures do things. We all have to perform these tasks, things we take for granted. Someone on the other side of the world is doing the same things, just a different way. Thank you for enlightening us to your way.

There is a tree called MAPOU in my country which can drain water on the earth surface.It is like a Sequoia. We plant them beside rivers or a spring.
Ash is use to clean kitchen utensils. It is the best cleaner we ever experience in my country rural village.
Ash is good for intestine illness too.

Again, Black Americans and Africans are one people. I remember hanging clothes on our clothes line outside in our back yard.
