Another one from the Paris bulk lot and probably one of my favorite records of all time now. The Niger City Starlight Orchestra are a cipher. There's no concrete information available about the group or the recording save for what's written on the label and a few scattered Discogs entries. This record and the handful of others the band put out were these guys' bid at immortality. With that in mind there's something unspeakably beautiful about both sides of this record that immediately connected with me and that I find a bit hard to put into words. Whoever you are, wherever you are, if this video finds you, I think you were meant to hear this music.
As is the case with many records from Africa, this 45 is in pretty rough shape, so I apologize for any dips in sound quality. I do not own any copyright to the song and am uploading it for archival purposes only. Audio and photo taken from my original 45.
