  • One of the most important skills you can have as a driver is being able to read data. Not only will this help you learn where you are losing time on the race track but if you ever want to be able to do coaching in the sport, being able to read data is at the top of the list of things you need to know. Reading data was something that I always struggled with growing up. I never knew how to read it until I spent hours messing around on the system. In todays video, I will give you the basics of reading data and give you a good head start on your competition.

    Hey Ryan, awesome video! Questions I'd have for a follow up:
    1. How would you approach this analysis if you only had access to your own data?
    2. How would you compare performance when across a day/weekend or even different events with long breaks between?
    3. Do you have to become very consistent to see the effects of small set up changes to performance on laps?
    Thanks again

    Please keep these data analysis videos going. Very informative and very little like this out there to help us. Would love for you to touch on engine tuning using data analysis (EGT) and ways to know if you can brake later or harder into any given corner

    Late to this party but I think data analysis is fundamental to self analysis and development. Keep this going!!

    Awesome video, very helpful! Could you cover ways to spot turning into the corner too early, the GPS does not always seem accurate enough to trust the lines on the track map.

    i was going to ask, I think I've noticed you use a M4? Is there a reason you don't have the 5?

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mainly because of the size of our team. When you have 26 drivers a weekend for a team its easier to download all the data on the key compared to using the wifi on the 5. The 5 is still a really good piece. For individual use id recommend the 5.

    • @dondelchulia3189
      @dondelchulia3189 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can get more data out of the 4. It has more things you can hook up to it. Also you can’t have your data stolen over Wi-Fi. Even with the password protection it can still be taken very easily.

    • @NorbergNation
      @NorbergNation  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 5 requires less accessories to do the same stuff that the 4 does. The 5 is a really good piece for the price

    Great video Ryan. Keep them coming. Can I conclude that if youre gaining on the braking zone, but losing time after the apex you’re overdriving the kart?

    • @theartist1497
      @theartist1497 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re gaining time into the corner, but lose time overall through that corner, you’re overdriving

    Hey Ryan, definitely right on time for me with this video. In regard to the "faster driver" would I need to load someone else's data that is in my category from the same track that I could compare myself to?
