Maybe one day, the real fun will come from the knowledge that countless gank squads will be sitting for hours, alone. Perhaps then, finally, some introspection might occur...
level 80 invasions actually has tons of mages. some of them are even threatening. but that's what makes it fun. the threatening ones put their limited stats into magic so they die in one hit. it's very satisfying cleaving through a goofy mage with one running attack. or one erdtree shield laser
@@deadlifts4357 although true it's better than level 60 . It's not what it once was and being at level 80 with more higher upgraded weapons/stats actually gives you a better chance at actually dealing with mages and over leveleds faster since damage is now reaching similar levels to what they have.
In Dark Souls 3, there was a great feature that scaled down overleveled phantoms to match the host's level. They dealt less damage than the host against invaders and could be taken out in one hit with a dagger if parried, depending on their armor. However, in Elden Ring, phantoms aren’t scaled down at all; they deal nearly the same damage as in their own worlds, which is too much for underleveled invaders. This means you can end up fighting alone against 2 overleveled phantoms that just kill you in 2 hits. I don’t understand why this change was made. Getting spammed by powerful spells isn’t new; it happened in previous Souls games too. Dark Souls 1 and 2 had their dark magic, and Dark Souls 3 had spells like Vestige and soul arrows/crystal spears. Most invasions in those games took place in tighter spaces, which limited the effectiveness of those spells compared to the open areas in Elden Ring, only big difference is that ER has many spells that have so many projectiles that you just can not avoid damage by just dodging. The main reason I prefer playing Dark Souls 3 over Elden Ring is the ease of using high-damage things, you just spam weapon arts at each other, you dont actually use the weapons anymore. I still watch ChaseTheBro, and the builds he showcased laterly allow for one-hit kills through counterattacks thats just BS there are numerous other things that can onehit/combo players this shouldnt exist inside ta pvp environment at least not by simply pressing somebuttons, if you read the enemy and parry/backstab thats fine
I would love to get dowwscaled so I can invade other players. I know I might have access to other weapon inventory, but they still are playing with phantoms to help, so... I think that should not be a problem in invasions. The 3 dudes squad could win easily. There are so many changes that they could implement and I don't understand why they don't do it.

you should really consider doing it, at low level its pretty much all your wpn level damage + buffs for damage. and at lower levels people are actually playing the game so its perfect for your playstyle, as it is mine
Generally bonfire duelist may be less good at PVP, but it's useful for doing a rough test of a build idea before you commit to the stat respec and weapons that will effect those stats... I agree that the damage scaling and lack of spam makes mid levels enjoyable, and I spend a good chunk of time each playthrough indulging. It's a great time, but there is something missing from it, imo. It's clear that the enjoyment of the PVP in this game is intrinsically motivated, and that's fine. My main issue is that if I am invading, I need to have Leyndell, Haligtree, Faram Azula, Belurat and Shadow Keep, as well as many late to endgame dungeons available to REALLY have fun. Do you get Leyndell invasions much at 80? Sure, a bit. Faram Azula? Much less, Haligtree and Shadow Keep even less. The more I do low level, the more I yearn for these places, as they are where my most fun invasions have been, with the exception of Stormveil. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy other areas, too, they just get stale when you are restricted to them.
I really have to agree that level 40 is the sweet spot. 50 can be fun too for more diversity of locale. But at 60, the OLP scaling feels real bad and they can hit you for insane damage super easily.
I wouldn't say that L2 spam is a problem because Ash of Wars are all generally overtuned relative to the dps R1s and R2s have (jump attacks not included). Like it is not uncommon to see an L2 hit you for like at least 60% of your max health. Meanwhile only a charged R2 can do that and a lot of them leave you open for trading. Jump attacks are a different beast all together though especially on the weapons that hit multiple times. They get even more powerful with powerstancing across the board as well. Meanwhile powerstancing doesn't always make the light attacks worth it and you can't heavy attack with both weapons while powerstanced unless it's a paired weapon like fists or claws. To a lesser degree I also think the range some of the melee attack themed ones have is a little ridiculous like piercing fang or sword dance. Like all of the weapon skills that got ported over to Elden Ring I think are fine like spinning strikes or square off. Even the ones that mimic the more unique ones from DS3 like Magma Shower from the Magma Blade compared to the enhanced spinning strikes that the PKCS had are alright. Bleed is also way stronger in this game than it has in any other souls game while frostbite is way more accessible in Elden Ring compared to DS3. Madness and Scarlet Rot, especially the 30% max health damage version, are beasts in their own right as well. I think the biggest problem with spells is Lusat's making sorceries hit stupidly hard while those spells are already geared towards being offensive spells anyway. I don't think there is an incantation in the game that can compete with Comet since it casts way faster than pretty much all of the single target incantations. Don't get me wrong there are some really powerful nuke incantations, but none of them are anywhere near as oppressive than Comet or Star shower. Not to mention that with the exception of Giant's Flame Take Thee and maybe Knight's Lightning Spear all of them are practically melee range incantations like the red lightning spells or Messmer's Orb. The change from active poise that DS3 had to passive poise and hyper armor that ER has also helped spellcasters a lot. TLDR: Damage for L2s are overtuned when compared to practically all R1s and R2s from any weapon with the exception of powerstance jump attacks. Lusat's massive scaling makes sorceries stupidly oppressive while the poise changes from DS3 to ER helped spell casters more than melee players imo. Bleed is stronger in ER vs any other Fromsoft game, and Frostbite is infinitely more accessible. Madness is literally Frenzy from BB but with like 50% less damage from the procs.
The problem is that the build diversity will be way lesser then at 150/168 : You have way less level to be able to wield some spells or incantations and even some weapon with high requirements, such as the giant crusher. There may not be many downsides to do RL40 invasions, but the downsides in questions are pretty big, witch is why I still prefer RL150 Invasions. But I do get your points and I don’t think RL40 is necesserly bad.
lately I have been playing at lvl 60(40vig,25end,19str,20dex) a quality build, so I can have access to most weapons and 89 poise. the best moment and enjoyment i have since the dlc came out + I agree with you phantoms have all the late gear weapons so why shouldn't I

Complaining about fogwalling is valid, but it's a lil awkward to claim you're so bored of duels because they're too easy, then complain that it makes it unfun that a bonfire duelist has more heals than you, or that it's unfair someone is playing with an overleveled friend lol. I agree mid-level pvp is fun tho for sure
Crutchers ruined a ton of the hype ngl. They killed the little stability we had an while seamless seemed promising, tryhards used the free ticket to cheat away along the crutching. Like I invaded 3 hours straight meta level just to find ppl that only gravity kills got their asses.
the amount of cheaters in seamless are few & far between. maybe 1 in every 100 invasions. the more prominent problem with low level seamless invasions is there is little to no weapon level matchmaking & max level weapons plague the level 80 bracket. which on one hand means you yourself can use max level weapons. on the other hand it really puts honest timmys further on the back foot. especially when they are running around mountaintop of giants with 600 health
if youre on pc you can get all the talisman slots, which is about as far as i go for low level invasions. weapon scaling is pretty much just weapon level based, because your stats are pretty much just the requirements and vigor. i dont think getting max flasks is too bad considering how many you can get by just exploring the open world

Brother, there is something in every Souls game called *spells.* If i want to be an Int/Fth phantom and die after i wasted my 350FP 6 times, the game allows it and it's an open world game. The amount of people quitting just because players don't melee is boring, just like the amount of bad mages and L2 spam. At least if you L2 spam do it with Sorcery of the Crozier since it's harder to dodge. Anyways, the problem i have is just lack of personality. It's all heavy armor using heavy weapons or meta, which i despise as meta makes you use 15 out of the more than 100 options the game gives to you. That is why RL181 is the best for everything. At least noobs have personality and don't running R1 spam Rakshasa's with spear and two handed talismans.

Thanks for the vid, its fun at 40 but in my opinion not worth it and limited for the sake of keeping my sanity, fk that
Does anyone else have experience at Level 40? I mean, is it worth while putting another build together?
Tarnish Hunter build specs?
its been a while since i've seen a new video. You don't have saved any livestreams as videos lately, I was getting worried.
What weapon upgrade level would be the best for RL40?
I love your content.
How'd you get the great katana at lvl 40?
Either he killed Mogh and ran to it or someone dropped it to him.
@@Zanemob I think it makes more sense if someone dropped it for him
Crutchers ruined a ton of the hype ngl. They killed the little stability we had an while seamless seemed promising, tryhards used the free ticket to cheat away along the crutching. Like I invaded 3 hours straight meta level just to find ppl that only gravity kills got their asses.
the issue with seamless is that invasions turn on or off
If it's optional, it's not an invasion.
the amount of cheaters in seamless are few & far between. maybe 1 in every 100 invasions. the more prominent problem with low level seamless invasions is there is little to no weapon level matchmaking & max level weapons plague the level 80 bracket. which on one hand means you yourself can use max level weapons. on the other hand it really puts honest timmys further on the back foot. especially when they are running around mountaintop of giants with 600 health
So what weapon level for lvl 40? Also can u suggest a build for it?
Tarnished hunter, I have TH-cam videos about it for this game
Can someone please address how weapon scaling, flasks, talisman slots, etc can effect the 'fun level' at mid level invasions?
if youre on pc you can get all the talisman slots, which is about as far as i go for low level invasions.
weapon scaling is pretty much just weapon level based, because your stats are pretty much just the requirements and vigor.
i dont think getting max flasks is too bad considering how many you can get by just exploring the open world
Yersterday i TT for over one hour alone, and i got one invader comming, lol also i try to invade, whaiting for Almost 15min,,,,i love the game and Have over 1500 hours ex pvp,but i can say that invasions are dead by now, they need to do somthing? Change the matchmaking system,,,,,,Maybe its time to move on to another game,,,i try ds1 and ds3,,,,instans invasions that was fun,
Ok but how you get dlc weapons on lvl 40?
The real question is: what vigor at lvl40?
@@TryAgain9999 almost all of your build should be vigor.
You want to meet minimum stats for whatever weapons you want to use, then dump the rest into vigor and endurance.
Don't worry about stat damage scaling, it means almost nothing at low level. Instead, use buffs like lightning slash or flaming strike.
Does anyone know if Golden seed or Sacred tear level effects your invasions?
No. Not at all. Neither do fragments
glazing time. hey man i don’t really fw ppl or sub etc but ur super solid and make great content.
i JUST made a 168 build (11 hours in trying to collect all key items etc) am i fucked for being at 366 on main and now 168 and trying to LEARN pcp? i’m new to souls games, wouldn’t say i’m bad at games, but something about invading makes me blood rush and sometimes i fuck up just cuz scared of all the spam.. should i make ANOTHER character at 40? and actually learn pvp there? i mostly learn from ur vids tbh but still gotta practice just hard ppl play scummy af.
how are you on console making all these toons? is there a secrecy way to speed rush all the tears and items etc ? (assuming u have no elden ring friends like me)
thanks brah also maybe none of this matters as i can’t fucking play without my xbox shitting the bed and turning off anyways. sad man
try arena, but what made me get good at invading is playing through the game AND invading as much as i can. i usually do 1-2 legacy dungeons per every few dozen invasions. you get your build and get your fun
Ds3 was so much better. The skill gap was so high. Nowadays you just need an L2 button.
Oh boy the shot gun bow 😂 this game is dead dude we need to keep it alive keep invading ya’ll.
I've been huge into darksouls pvp since 2012 . But mann Eldenring pvp is so bad compared to DS3 I just gave up on it . I'm having more fun on Armored core and DBZ, and SM2
Yippee drunk posted
my dude
Are there less traitor reds at rl40?
About the same
If you mean killing PVErs is fun, ok. Maybe you should try TT run at level 40 for real fun
Lvl 69 meta
How can an "Invader" be frustrated when you're trying to kill 3 players that are most likely headed to beat a boss...? Im new to this type of gameplay. So Im actually curious to understand. 🤔
Idk man ppl keep saying pvp is shit but ive been having fun for the last 2 years. Just seems like the community wants to fit an elden ring shaped object in a dark souls shaped hole, and are upset that it doesnt fit.
@@diegoalderette6485 You can enjoy the pvp all you want, but to try and deny its objectively flawed design and broken balance would be hella dishonest.
I still enjoy the hell out of PvP. Really tired of the constant complaining for the past year over ER PvP. People either need to quit and move on or accept it for what it is and keep playing. If people hate it so much play something else that'll make you happier.
I loved watching you when you created your channel drunk. You used creative builds and were always funny and lighthearted with the game. Now you've devolved into constant bitching.
Elden ring PvP is boring af now and who would want to play Elden ring at level 40 you have absolutely no build verity so it’s still boring after a while
Go play DS3 big dog
Don't complain bout Fog Walls when other players you invade are actually playing the game and going through fighting the bosses. Like ive said in the past go fight people in the coliseum. That's literally all about PvPing in 1v1s 2v2s evry1 vs evry1 no teams and even spirit summon duels. Everyone does it like tf....
He's criticizing the games spawn system, not the players that proceed to go through boss fogwalls.
@@Killsorow it wasn’t as big of an issue in the older games because you had to run through the level now it’s just respawn beside boss door
The collosium is stale af. Pvp out in the world is where it's at just not the open world.
Arena is boring
Invading is also playing the game
I think level 80 is the best
Your constant need to Teabag people is cringe.
low level invasions is easy mode for invaders.
@@ramv7469 Not really since overleveled phantoms are a very common thing at low levels
@UncleGael1999 maybe. But most players at low levels barely even have two talisman pouches, healing flasks and equipment etc.
@@ramv7469 Same goes for most low level invaders
@UncleGael1999 most ive seen have end game and dlc gear, but youre also right
@@ramv7469 Yeah this can be said for both sides.
Invaders get 2 shot by overleveled phantoms so they get endgame gear.
Honest low level hosts get 2 shot by twink invaders so they summon their overleveled buddies.
A neverending cycle of bs :/
