- Welcome to Astana Kazakhstan! Within twelve hours of landing in Astana Kazakhstan for the first time, I was out exploring the city! I had been wanting to come to Astana for a long time and it was just as beautiful and interesting as I thought it would be. It's a very new city with a really nice modern twist to it while still be authentic to the Kazakh culture. Please forgive me if I mispronounced some of the names haha. I will do my best to learn Kazakh and Russian in my future videos of central Asia ^^
Welcome to my channel! I'm Patrick and this is Patmax Adventures! I'm originally from California and have been living abroad for the past four years. I decided to start this channel to share my experiences and passion for travel with others. My goal with this channel is to share and show as much as I can of the World. My focus will always be on the culture, food and of course the local people of everywhere I travel to! I'm an optimist and always try to highlight the positives of a place rather than just the negatives.Though I will also be bluntly honest at times too! I knew nothing about Kazakhstan but was watching a video of one of its famous singers (Dimash) and decided to research further and found your video. It is GREAT. Not only is the city absolutely gorgeous but you are very thorough, nice detail, history, etc. Thank you for enhancing my world!
Beauty of Kazakhstan is its people, they are very positive and tolerant, even if some of them dont speak English they will do anything they can to help you.

Traveled there in June. It is a beautiful city although somewhat crowded. The pyramid building is called The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. It was conceived as the place for the mutual understanding among the people and promotion of faith and religion. I am fluent in Russian and Kazakh and know the local customs and traditions so no issues there. Stayed at the hotel that meets American standards and ate the delicious breakfast. The mosk is beautiful. Everybody is allowed to visit it even though you are non-muslim. Just put on a robe, cover your head and take your shoes off before entering( covering your head and bare shoulders and legs is the minimum requirement you follow as you would do in churches in Italy, Spain or France). When you reach the top floor of Bei- terek tower, take a picture of your hand pressed against the handprint of the President. Lastly, Kazakh people are very friendly and honest people and will go out of their way to help you. If you are English speaking visitor, I suggest approaching the young people as they are most likely understand you and assist you. Kazakhstan is safe to travel. Good luck with your trip! Do you know why sky is so blue there? It reminds me sky of New Zealand but Kazakhstan is inland country so.
The air is just so much cleaner in that area .

The sky is actually the color of the real sky, sky-blue, not jet-grey. Most of the world is so heavily sprayed and so few are fighting back. Watch any and all new videos, check out pics, so see virtually NO real blue skies, and no strong shadows. We are a meek population not to be fighting back.

You seem like you have a heart that is in a good place! Want to know something? Kazakhstan is actually my number one favourite foreign country. I just want to say thank you for not talking trash about this country at any point in the video. To be honest, when I reached the part where you were going to state some basic facts about the country, I was getting a little worried that you would say it was a dictatorship and the rights of the people are limited. I get rather sick and tired of hearing this kind of crap on the internet about any non-western countries because it's really just a sign of white supremacy. A lot of people, including my own family, like to ridicule me when I claim that Kazakhstan is a beautiful country, and it just upsets me so much! You, sir, seem like a very cool guy!!! Thanks for such a kind and in-depth comment! I agree with you and like to focus on the positives of each country I visit. This country has its flaws and so does my home country of America. Later on I will do a sit down video talking about the culture here and some experiences I have had here. I will also be traveling through Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. I unfortunately have had some friends unhappy with me traveling to this part of the World and judging it with no personal experience. I am well aware of each countries flaws, but I am also very excited to experience their cultures and see what each country is about.
PatMax Adventures I am fully aware that ALL countries have flaws. However, I have seen quite a few Kazakh people on the internet call out certain propaganda videos that claim the country is a dictatorship. Their arguments have been that Nazarbayev is NOT a dictator, and they are happy the way they live for the most part. I live in Canada, and from where I live, there have been a few acts of vandalism and stabbings which took place very close to where I live. This is kind of ironic, considering Canada is supposed to be one of the safest countries in the world.
To be honest, I think it's kind of discriminatory to have crime statistics for each country as well as statistics for how corrupt each nation is, because for every single list, countries where whites are the majority get labelled as "LEAST CORRUPT", while countries where brown or black people are the majority get labelled as "MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRIES". This is an obvious sign of white supremacy, and it just goes to show you that racism is still a thing today, even though most people say they are more accepting.

I like it too. The food here is very meat heavy with lots of bread, noodles, and potatoes. I'll be sharing more food in my upcoming videos.

Whoa! I had no idea it would be so clean and organized. It is sooo open. Just want to grab a bike and go coasting to feel that open air breeze there.
When you visit the mosque, you could ask a brother for a possible robe or something to wear. Can't wait to see it. I am sure you won't be able to film during the 5 prayer times, so keep an eye on the times. Or maybe ask the Imam.

Thank you for the good advice. They actually had bikes you could rent around the city and ride them around. Astana Kazakhstan is not my new home haha. I was there just for five days. I'll be traveling around Kazakhstan for three weeks and then moving on to Kyrgyzstan.

zamir enaam Good day, mate. U gonna have some troubles with that however there are some tips to you to get people with English skills. We have education system based to learn 3-4 languages, and english is MUST)) So, if you want to ask someone do it with youngsters =) if you want to visit Almaty, I can be your guide for a day.

Why you all tourists concentrate your attention to the left side of the city only? Astana is not the left side only. The left side of the city is more administrational and the right side is more residential. So in other words if you want to see crowded streets and traffic jams please go to the right side of the city.

Many of the foreign cities are much nicer than usa cities which are run down. Not to mention clean. Kinda reminds me of dubai but different.
